So I take it a Cri-Cri is out unless it is VH registered and you have a twin engine rating on a PPL license. Its a pity because they are nice and small, relitively cheap to build and have a decent stall speed due to Junkers style flaps/flaperons and get along at a pretty good pace on nothing better then a pair of glorified lawnmower engines.

Yeah, it is a twin engine, twin prop job and looks to be about 2/2.5 meters long

Hi all, Where does the Cri-Cri stand as far as RAAus registration is concerned.

It might have been Your nephew Ian I went to School with and yes it would have been me in Barber st with the RC plane. I still have a couple but I havent had thumbs on sticks for a while.

G'day Stan, I went to school with your boys and you would most likley know my old man, Col Austin. Another bloke I Knew from when I lived out there(Cliff Colleen) is into Ultralights too.

Thanks Glen & Chris
At Lone Eagle they start you on a Drifter as it is a little more hands on flying and a tail dragger, then they put you into the Jabiru. This way you get your endorsments for both types of landing gear and low and high performance aircraft. I think the cross country training is done in the Drifter as well as it is easier to look around you to get your bearings.

Thanks for the welcome Robbo.

G'day all, I am not a pilot as yet but hope to rectify this by the end of the year. I live in Toowoomba Qld and will try for my license at Lone Eagle Flying School at Clifton. They seem to be a freindly bunch out there and I will be looking forward to training with them. At the moment I am looking for a 2nd hand 2 seater airframe with or without engine that needs fixing up and is going cheap or free.If anyone can help please IM or email me.

Thanks all for the welcome. I am thinking of building a Jodell D18 and using a vw engine for a power plant. A two seater is a must have as the wife will be flying with me.

G'day all, I will be going through this site with much interest as I make my way through flight training and building my own plane. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time and it's time to do something about it.
