  1. I am sorry but if it HAD been sent out on time by RAAust and Aust post had lost it (which happens a lot) who would be responsible then? No one to blame for not renewing a licence but the licence holder themselves and suffer the consequences if they don't. It is an Administrative error, we have to be responsible for somethings in life ourselves. I don't know of any company in the world that has never made an administrative error. THATS LIFE!!!

This is not directed at you Personaly Cloudsuck just my opinion on a forum post about RAAust.

  2. Not to sound picky and it is helpful to get a reminder, However I think we have a responsibility to keep our own licence and rego current. I always know when mine are due! RAAus do a lot more than licence reminders.

    Just my thoughts (Sorry)

  3. Sorry to hear this Geoff,

I suppose it was the last thing fitted on a Friday afternoon and they were thinking about the weekend or something. Have you contacted the person you bought it off? or the manufacturer where it was built? and what did they have to say.I don't think anyone will admit liability. However I am glad to see that you had the common sense to investigate the vibes and not just fly it because that is how it came from new. That's how easy someone can have an accident. Well done Geoff!!

  6. Thanks Nev, I don't get insulted It's my choice to fly it.

Thanks Tomo, I must admit I would have laughed as well and you were probably a lot safer in the Drifter in those winds compared to a lot of other aircraft.Big winds and cross winds most of the year out here that's one of the reasons i chose a Drifter. As you said a 747 they are not but if you take away the fun you may as well just drive your car around

    Thanks Guy's

  7. Thanks again Tomo,

The evens head fly in was fantastic. I flew Wayne Fishers Drifter to a Sunday morning Evans Head Breakfast in January 2009 just to say Hi, A great bunch of people there. I was getting some time up and Wayne flew another Drifter. It was a great day and felt very welcome.

  8. Hi David,

I have used a sticky back sail cloth to patch the Drifter cloth. You can get that from Wayne Fisher at Spectrum Aviation 0266224466. It is real strong and once on won't move. Not sure if it is what you want but just a thought.

  9. Tomo,

What about two stroke fuel does it store OK in drums or not? for say the 503 in the Drifter. I never really though about it before. I mix two 50 ltr oil drums at a time and seal them, take out 20litres at a time in a jerrycan. Keep the Drifter full all the time.

    Welcome Martin,

I raced a mini cooper S, Raced Motorbikes in my youth now with a bit of age I realized that it's not a race. That's why I fly a Drifter, Enjoy the ride and enjoy the site mate.
