I always do a briefing, similar to Maj just to calm their fears and let them know that everything will be ok. My stepdaughter is a hostie with qantas and she was dissappointed that I didnt do the same flight safety briefing that she does. But as I explained to her, a Gazelle doesnt have drop down oxygen masks or floor lights to show her where the nearest exit is. Anyway she liked the flight and as she stood there with crossed fingers, arms and legs said that she would go up with me again......

can that be considered a 'waypoint'

Dont worry about the scenery..........where is the bottleshop?

What I want to know is......how long did it take you to train the dog to drive to the bottleshop?:lol 8:

I use a soft sided carry bag like a laptop bag for my flight bag. This has everything I need in it and stays in the car, but all I take in the aircraft is my headset bag (generic model from Clear Prop for about $25). This has a large pocket on the front for my maps, print outs of the relevant ERSA pages, timer and checklists, a pocket on the end for my GPS (Garmin ETrex h) and pen pockets on the other end. The only other thing I take is my kneeboard with flightplan, nav log, E6b, pens etc. My phone is in my pocket and my cap is on my head:ecstatic:
What more do you need?

:thumb_up:Thanks everyone, that has settled my mind a bit

Just a question to clear my mind. Every time I do a preflight on an aircraft I check the fuel for contamination by water etc. What happens or what am I supposed to do if I find some water in the fuel sample? Do I drain the tanks and system completely or do I just keep taking samples until the sample is clear?

A simple question......why have a code at all, if everyone is trying to translate it and having trouble, why not just have it in plain engrish
-
I dont carry water....(it is an age and bladder thing - I dont want to be caught short at 3500ft)
I have all the usual stuff in a flight bag (this stays in the car), but normally just chuck the relevant maps and ersa pages in my headset bag and take my kneeboard.

Is it because our Boy Scout training has taken a while to kick in (Be Prepared) or is it because we dont trust our ability to improvise anymore:hittinghead:

Why is it that the more experienced we become, the more stuff we have to carry. Some of the flight bags I have seen guys manhandling into a cockpit are really duffel bags in disguise
What is in them?:question:i_dunno

1. Spitfire MkVb
2. Mosquito
3. Lancaster
1, 2 & 4 Merlins
I saw a Mossie fly, sat in a Mk1 Spit and been in the tail turret on a taxi run in a Lancaster
To fly those three planes would be a dream come true and the top of a long list of aircraft that I would like to fly
We can all dream, cant we........

My guess is that you were a dogman on a crane before all the safety regs stopped you hanging about

Dont worry about the question, I found the answer in another thread on this website. Cheers and thanks

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between an ELB, PLB, EPIRB.
