  1. Eprops are designed from the ground up by very smart people versed in fluid dynamic and using some very trick software. They just dont copy and remix old designs. You have to remember that the Eprop for Rotax engines was specifically designed for the engine that has a gearbox. NOT a direct drive although later this year they will release their new prop for the Jabiru series of engines which is a 2 blade. You can of course get a 2 blade for a rotax but that is a waste because again it was designed for a gearbox engine. It also helps that it is the lightest propellor you can get with the latest materials. Everyone also notices the vast difference when starting and stopping the engine...no more big clunks..The blades are not wide like all other props..this reduces the drag of the propellor. One thing to remember of course is that reduced drag will affect your landing approach. Every single customer who has bought a Eprop from me has been super happy and every single one has had a dramatic increase in cruise speed. Also they all cant believe how smooth they are..they are a huge level above anything even with the best dynamic balance you can do on a normal prop. I have sold over 70 props now and in fact another 2 are on order this week. If you set them up as per the instructions they tell you then you will get the performance. If you listen to the "old guard" you will NOT get the performace. The designers know what they are doing.

One of the first few props I sold was for a A22 foxbat..he got 8kts increase in cruise..he used to love is Warp Drive props...he sold all 3 he had after using the Eprop. I dont want this to be taken as a sales pitch. It isnt. Its just information to chew on but the best recommendation is from the people that use them. I dont have to have any sales pitch..they sell themselves.

  2. Hi Bob

Not a lot since the engine start and run. A few things like the parachute is now installed and those covers etc. I am subdividing the Burpengary property and its a huge job as all the 2 sheds there have to be demolished to suit the new alignment. My dads shed and my electronic shed have been cleaned out but the build shed 15 x 7.5 mtrsmit has to stay until the new shed 18 x 9 mtrs is put up on the new alignment. All the stuff in the 2 sheds has been packed into spare rooms in the house and the remaining big shed temporarily. To do this Mabel has been shifted down to the hangar to give me more room in the big shed. When I shift what I am keeping into the new shed like my CNC mill and lathe and a pletherer of other gear then the big shed will come down. This will allow the new driveway easement to be done. Its been a massive job but then there are trees to remove over the new property lines and fences to be removed..2 shipping containers to be sent to the farm...etc etc...so I am afraid no work on Mabel now for a couple of months. Also the spare time I have has been used making CDI ignitions and trying to get more htrottle kits done in a very temporary workbench setup in the big shed. My missus is up me as well she wants to go flying and we still have no flying aircraft. Mabel needs a few good solid weeks and she will be ready but I just cant manage the time but she has to be done as soon as I can get the time. Everything is down at the

hangar wings and tail feathers have been painted..fuse as well. Just need to paint the cowls

  4. Scone is NOT quick access to the Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast. I have just put my name and deposit down on a block. Blocks range now from 350k to 595k depending on size and position. Smallest block is 2400sqm and the largest is just over 4000 sqm

There are 64 blocks total but only 30 are actually up for sale. The others were withdrawn from sale until after the blocks are titled at around April 2025. I think out of that 30 blocks there are only 4 or 5 left.

Of course then the blocks will be much more expensive once they are fully titled

There is a covenent of course and every house must have plans for a hangar whether it is built of not and the owner has a aircraft. There are a few other things but nothing untoward. The body corp fees are very good..I mean very good. I asked the very question myself and they do have full financial breakdowns for it and it looks pretty legit to me.

I dont know what its like down south but land has skyrocketed this past few years in Qld because all you bloody mexicans keep moving up here. hervey bay's nickname is "Little Victoria"

Here in Burpengary our unimproved land value from the gubberment fella last year was 445k...as of 4 weeks ago we got the new valuation is 785k

Even my farm which is in bum Fu*ck Nowhere has gone from 95k to 180k !!!!  in one year. The airpark with one 840mtr bitumin runway and a grass cross runway 10km from Maryborough on the Biggenden road would be not unreasonable. Do pricing for land in Maryborough or Hervey Bay now

  5. KFA website is slow..price for built engine is about 50k plus shipping etc..so thats from the website. Maybe better to just buy the kit and do it yourself. Couldnt find the price of the kit. The guy in melbourne has a good rep for his turbo conversion for a std 912ULS. Currently a Searay from our airfield at YCAB is circumnavigating australia with a rebuilt out of time engine and his turbo kit fitted. They are midway up the WA coast now so half way around OZ and no issues with the engine. David Geers is also running a 4 blade Eprop...

  6. Hangar 14 Youtube channel is run by KFA in South Africa. KFA have a turbo upgrade they use over there and it seems they have decided to go full on with the Zongshen engines and they have released 2 new videos recently. The latest one this morning is fitting their turbo conversion kit to the 100hp engine. This gives 135hp similar to Norways engine.

KFA produce Kitfox derived aricraft like the Safari. these are quite popular due to the cost being cheaper than the Kitfox and some say are a better kit.

Just thought I would put this out there if anyone hadnt seen it

  7. The Zongshen people got back to me with some current pricing inc a special discount for OZ seeing there is no dealer here.

Basically about 22k aussie then of course there is freight and all the associated dock crap and fees etc etc etc so add about 3k at least for that then slap on 10% for the GST and you end up about $27 to 28K...so about 10k less than here which is what I think I said earlier in this thread

  8. KR. either way they cost pretty much the same. I went with both being TSO versions...then there was no drama. had my money back in 4 weeks and if I wish I can now go into CTA with that hardware without any issue. You will never be allowed CTA with a SE2. So I just bit the bullet and did it the certified way then there was absolutely no issue. I looked at the financial differences and for me...it was worth the sh@t fight.

  9. I am told ATC can see the SE2 as several plots have been called by ATC and they dont have mode C on board only SE2. But maybe in their MOP's ATC are not supposed to use it so who knows but ATC were supposed to be going to see them..it really is a software thing that would be easily implemented for ATC

  10. For ADSB out to comply it must have a proper certified GPS source. I bought the Uavionix TailbeaconX. They used to sell a "experimental" version of it but now only sell the TSO'd version. To comply you do need the GNSS certified GPS source. You can use another brand but I also bought the AV-30 from Uavionix which has that certified source inbuilt and fully complys. The AV-30 also does a hell of a lot of other stuff pretty much to the point you dont need a EFIS but any certified source comes at a price. basically the Transponder was about 4k and the AV-30 was about 4k..but with the rebate I got both of them for 4k...Also dont forget this is only ADSB OUT...for IN I will use my SE2..you turn off the transmitter and use the SE2 as your ADSB IN

Or of course you can use another solution like a Raspberry Pi setup or a Stratus or one of the many others as your ADSB IN setup.

I build my own aircraft and I just signed off the installation as me myself and I....There was no issue getting the rebate at all. Of course though you need the instruments all tested every 2 years by a licenced person to do so as I am not licenced to do that even though I spent 30 years in the radio/satellite comms industry doing board level repais and tuning and testing. I have never applied to get the necessary paperwork crap to get my licence to sign off on the avionics

  11. The video posted the other day said warranty was 3 years or 500 hrs..if it has a actual mechanical issue with the engine they will give you a new one and want to old complete engine back. Thats pretty good and shows they do want to make it a good engine..warranty with Rotax is always a fight and certainly not 3 years.

I dont believe anyone in OZ has taken on a dealership yet but you would need a proper service and mech backup shop to do it correctly.

If the engine was about 20k aussie then I think its very viable for that price certainly in the beginning of them trying to get units out there. I am not sure though of the current Floods price for a 912ULS but last time I heard it was 35k but dont forget that was no exhaust or oil cooler or radiater either..thats for a out of time swap engine

  12. Yes it is a shame that you have been F@$ked over like this. yet there are a number of jabs flying that have had CAR35 i think it is. We had one at Caboolture airfield for a few years then it was sold. Not sure where it went to. I could find out if you want as I know the school operator. and it was RAA rego not GA I am sure.

The new owner of jabiru hopefully sees the light and does one with a Rotax up the front hopefully he is not as pig headed as old Rodney about these things. They would sell a heap of Jabs with Rotax...there are still a lot of potential buyers out there that just dont trust the jab engine...I am not trying to start a flame war here just stating a fact. But now Stiffy is not the controlling partner maybe some improvements could be made as the Jab has been proved as a good safe airframe.
