Sitting duck underperforming waste of pilot's lives if it ever went into production. Nev

Very large rudder. Wouldn't be there IF it wasn't needed. Nev

The motor is pretty crude ( Only 5 cyls and with Parallel valves) and the Plane would be underpowered. With a 220 HP radial motor it would show what it can do. The airframe looks good with ailerons on all wings. Since so many were made there should be lots of info on it. Nev

Yes, that sources this forum and that's what I'd like to be available HERE. to refer to and continue from. Nev

Thanks red but I was trying to locate the reference on this site or get someone smarter to do it for Me as it had information I don't think would show up anywhere else. Nev

There has been a bit if discussion of this plane quite a while ago 'I looked up the engine on Google and got referred to this site, but the link had expired or something. A search might bring it UP. Nev

Be hard getting into the front cockpit. Nev

Not blessed with much aileron. Having flaps on the upper mainplanes is unusual on Biplanes no doubt for the carrier duties. A dorsal fin would help the rudder but those came a bit later. The first P51 did not have one either. Nev

What a horrible looking thing it is with such a limited operational profile. Nev

There's more different versions of the 235 than any other Lycoming motor. The Con't 0-200 is 100 HP. 35 is a few extra cubes. and the push Rods on the top make for better ports in the Lycoming . Nev
-
I think the 235 is 115 HP and about 24 Litres/Hr. That's what mine did in a 7 ECA. and it's what the Ops Manual says.
Pazmany, I'm not a fan of the full flying tail otherwise the plane is fine. Nev

Only about double the weight of a DC-3. Nev

If it's got a long nose then a short sideslipping final works better. Nev
