Hey guys, heres a few pics from some of my latest adventures.
Planned to spend a few days up at whitsundays last week but weather had us turning back at maleny VOR so overnighted in YRED, next day was CAVOK so took a trip up to Gympie to visit my mate Pete who instructs at the Rec. Flying Co (RFC) in Drifters and an antique J3 Cub.
He suggested a trip up the coast past Cooloola Cove and Rainbow beach. Absolutely magic.
Hope ya enjoy the pics.

-
Hahaha that is so funny!
-
Oh god that is terrible
-
Wow that was amazing
-
Yes Mason Field at southport is a private field, there is also Chearabah just south of Warwick
-
Proud of you tomo
-
Yes you should listen to the ATIS, tune the appropriate tower frequency and notify them that you are transitting outside controlled airspace and monitor the frequency as you go through
-
HAHAHA Dazza

Ag pilot lost his entire rudder snagged on a powerline, landed without a rudder!
-
Yes just read that on the Courier Mail site as well.
-
strange report, I wonder if the tail was missing before the landing or after?
-
Yea I don't have a problem with it, like those guys have said you just have to listen to the broadcasts.
-
Yes I always find flying into Ballina/Lismore/Casino somewhat frustrating due to the 3 being on the same frequency. Same with Caboolture, Redcliffe and Caloundra.
I guess there are reasons for doing this because they are so close to each other but I don't know what the solution would be.....
-
Oh noOOOOO!
-
Yes it would appear I am fighting a LOSING battle.
You have to laugh at the amount of people that can't spell it though, and all pilots as well....

Riley Qantas does not have a U in it.........
It stands for Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services.

How is Qantas to blame for it's Rolls Royce engines failing, it is Rolls Royce who have the problem. A Singapore Airlines A380 also had the same problem with one of its engines and was only found as a result of the A380s being grounded after the Qantas incident.
A Google search of safest airlines based on statistics ranks Qantas at an undisputed number one, this is also common knowledge amongst most people. Many American airlines have had tragedies where hundreds of people have died so I don't understand Maj Millards FAA comment????

Maybe I was being picky but come on, it's not rocket surgery HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I love Qantas, for many reasons. Be aware of those who tell you wild stories about this and that.
Remember it says a lot about an organization that bags out the competition - usually a sign that something is wrong with their brand.
There is no denying Qantas' safety record, service and their exceptional pioneering of air travel in Australia.
But this is Australia, famous for "tall poppy syndrome" So it will be interesting to hear what others have to say about this hugely successful global empire......
