Atec Zephyr

Hi All,

 

About three months ago I purchased this delightful aircraft from my good friend Ken's deceased estate.

 

First month or so -

 

Convert from PPL - RAP. Man are those Jabs (7 hrs) touchy little beasts - new respect for RA pilots.

 

Full service for Zephyr - all liquids changed, systems & flight surfaces/controls, checked - pays to read Rotax service bulletins FIRST.

 

Second & third months -

 

First levitation (that's what a Zephyr does) - heart in mouth, tall trees at end of short grass rnwy on side of hill, but no probs easy 1500ft/min climb.

 

Once up must come down - First landing? put it this way, I didn't bend anything.

 

10 hrs in Zephyr -still learning heaps & consult with Ken (now right seat) in moments of fear "**** Ken how did you manage to do this?" & elation "Ken this is pure magic"

 

Would like to make contact with other Zephyr owners.
