Willborne Posted January 9, 2011 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Hi Everyone, Can I have advice regarding the need for Fire Extinguishers in Aircraft as part of the safety kit. Old Koreelah Posted January 9, 2011 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I got lucky and found a couple of aerosol dry powder extinguishers made in Tasmania (unfortunately no longer in production). I have one plumbed into the engine bay. Weighs c.800g and makes me feel safer. I regularly shake up the powder, but eventually the pressure will leak out. I have heard of proper aircraft extinguishers which weigh a little more and cost a couple of hundred dollars.
