Some background info on myself: I am a student at Swinburne University in Melbourne Australia completing my Product Design Engineering degree this year. The final year project is an all electric powered para glider. The project will be a joint effort between our different engineering disciplines. There are currently a few different existing electric ultralights on the market which we are hoping to improve on the likes of. Currently we are still in the research stage for this project. Well as uni tends to do, money is in abundance at the moment but that is not to say that in the future I will not get my licence. Those vids are great, a successful flight. This is good feedback for us, as we are currently researching into want ultralight buyers really want. We are considering a rectanglular chute with improve line attachment positions for extra stability etc. I will look more into the wind aspect. They tell me they are safe, the air cells in the chute help to avoid collapses. Clint Aerochute Industries have been selling the Hummerchute WITHOUT the correct documentation for registration as factory built class 32, if you purchase one today you CANT fly it unless your prepared to register it as class 19 which is not factory built & that would be lying on your application. They haven't registered one correctly ( legally ) since about Nov 2012 (according to RAA). Phone RAA and see if you can register a Hummerchute as factory built class 32, if you all ready have a Hummerchute that is licenced ,then currently they will not renew it.
