In 1959/60 as a techo posted to an RCAF CF-100 allweather/night fighter alert fixture (414 Black Knight Sqdn) in northern Canada, the emerging CF-105 was the talk of the flight line. It was an unimaginable kick-in-the-guts to both line service crews and air crew alike when the government made the policital decision to scrap it.
