The structure being developed in v6 of Recreational Flying is the following:

  1. Recreational Flying (.com) - as it is now although updated to v6 and is focused entirely on recreational aviation. This includes all forms of recreational flying (ultralights, microlights, gliders, powered chutes etc etc etc) and all forms of GA (General Aviation). It will be structured with forum groups specific to the type of flying plus some individual forums will be geographic specific.

  2. Clear Prop (.com.au) - will be a site dedicated to Classifieds and Shopping. It will have a comprehensive arrangement of classified categories for all things aviation plus will have the current Clear Prop Pilot Supplies Shop. This site will allow for ALL types of commercial advertisers, private advertisers plus have forums relating to product reviews, upcoming product release discussions and more. It will also have most of the features of Recreational Flying like media section, FREE resource downloads, Events etc

  3. Whats Up Australia (.com.au) - this site is specifically for all the "Off Topic" discussions. It will again have forums but across a much larger topic base than just "Off Topic" as it is now like Motoring, Sailing, Politics, Religion, Sex, World Events etc etc etc. It will also have many different sections like Media etc.

So why am I saying this...

All 3 sites are being developed with an integrated user base i.e. you register on one, and you are registered across all, the same for logging in and logging out.

All sites will be accessible from each other in a very much seamless way as apart from the shop on Clear Prop, they are all using the same instance of software. Once initially set up and developed it is made a lot easier from an Administrative view than to have 3 separate web sites with 3 different software implementations on each one plus although they all have their own web address, the user integration will make it feel seamless for all users. The menu systems on all sites will be almost identical.

So does anyone have any comments on this?
