facthunter Posted January 9, 2017 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I've done a few swings on bigger stuff . Have you got something to align it with marked out on the ground and some compasses are "hemisphere" sensitive. Mostly cheaper ones I guess. Having ferrous objects around is error causing and have all normal electrics ON as you would in flight if you can.. bstrachan Posted January 14, 2017 Share Posted January 14, 2017 My A&P told me to make sure the vertical card compass was shock mounted as vibration will destroy them. I used some soft rubber washers to isolate the mounting bracket.... it's been in there for years, no problems.
