Here are some pics that I snapped a few mins ago of the approaching storm this afternoon. Looks as though it is going to be a big one. Note the Mammatus clouds also. Severe storm warning current, mostly for this area in Western Sydney and other parts of Sydney. Looks good on radar image also.

Sydney Metropolitan,

 

Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury and

 

Wollondilly/Wingecarribee areas.

 

Issued at 2:45 pm Sunday, 13 January 2008.

 

Thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Bringelly, Silverdale and Warragamba by 3:05 pm and Badgerys Creek, Leppington and Mulgoa by 3:35 pm.

 

Large hailstones, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and damaging winds are likely.

I've spent the best part of the afternoon on my verandah , beer in hand taking in the sights and sounds of the storm .. Great stuff !!;)..... Marilyn thinks I'm mad mind you ... They just don't understand do they 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif....It looks as if you got the best of it up your way , and still getting it too ..

I know the beer (or 6) in hand and the madness of storm-watching. No, they do not understand. Had free fireworks here for most of the night Dave. No hail this time around. Possibly some more storms later today.

G'day Ian. The Oaks was on Nine News just now. A house had its roof ripped right off. Hopefully all the aircraft there are ok on the field.
