Thruster87
Just thought I mention the great experience of thermal lift yesterday at the Oaks during training.Flying circuit ht 1900ft we were getting 300ft + lift with no no power and we glided and soared for about 5min maintaining 1900ft.The fun part was turning for base andthe VIS stayed on 0 with no power, then having to side slip all the way to the threshold.I put this thread in here as the A/C was a Lightwing 582 Cheers :)
Ed Herring
Hi Chris It's good to see the FS Storch S on your Avatar. Great Aircraft and a real buzz to fly. I believe that things are pretty busy aviation wise over your way. Regards Ed

Doug Evans
yeah sounds scary... I've never experianced a mountain wave, but it doesnt sound fun It was not intimidating or scary going up but going down was a wake up call had full power and dropping like a stone an nothing I could do but ride it out , if I been low I think I may have been a pot hole on the side of the hill .... Doug Evans
Yes mate she is a very stable and strong , I fine she is very predictable and can safely handle most weather conditions she will keep u more than interested when doing cross wind landing and she is more than capable of throwing u a curve ball every now and then . As for strength I have seen a Ligthwing do barrel rolls loops and even a spin yes it is Not allowed but this was way back when I first stated to fly Almost 20 years ago . I have flown my lightwing with 2 others up to weipa and around the cape We have flown the little two stroke down to nsw lismore and back pretty much up and down the east coast with no problems .
