David S
Hi Has anyone tried using a small 2" venturi tube to drive a turn and bank indicator? If so, does it work? My 2 stroke has no vacuum. David S
Yenn
A lot of the old GA planes used an external venturi, but I am not sure of the size. 2" ought to be OK i think.
facthunter
True. Place it where it gets a fair bit of wind off the prop then you will have the instrument functioning on the ground (with a bit of luck. As Yenn says the old aircraft ALL had them. (before they had electrics and vacuum pumps.) Nev.
newairly
Have a look at this article from Flight Safety Magazine in 1999 http://www.casa.gov.au/fsa/1999/jul/FSAinst.pd It discusses the use of a venturi as a backup system to a vacuum pump.
