  1. I have had a good read of all the Zenith threads. They mainly seem to be concerned with the building/rebuilding, wings dropping off some models type of thing. No one seems to be actually talking about owning/flying/ problems, bad points, good points of the Zodiac 601HDS in particular. Thanks

  2. I have an opportunity to purchase a Zodiac 601 HDS, Does anyone know much about these aircraft??? is it the same as the Zenith (looks the same) Its approx 10 years old. RAA registered, 500 hours A/F, Jab 2200A 30 hours. I am interested coz it's available locally.

Any info regards what to look for greatly appreciated, I will of course have it checked out by a Lame in the first instance.

  3. I purchased a Geopilot plus 2 from Ian recently, not overly expensive and works really well. Believe it or not it has saved me money already. 3 aircraft flew down to K.I. from ASC Gawler and as this was my first effort with GPS, I put in shortest FP. cut off .4 hour from our normal landmark to landmark trip. (I still had maps and FP worked out if needed). .4 of an hour equated to $50.00 thank you very much. I was mightily impressed, should not take long to recoup cost at that rate.

  4. In fact Turbo had been on a whirlwind trip setting up deals with possum shooters and other members of the rag trade getting ready to launch his new product based loosely on a food chain's "Combo" brand (you don't eat any part of this one though).

He had rushed into Wagga Wagga, a known possum haunt and breeding farm, but found "Shining Tooth" (an old Indian alias sometimes used by the Capt) was out of town, so he took the opportunity to grab a handful of boiled lollies from the cherubs, only to suffer a broken tooth on the way home, and he could understand perfectly how this establishment had five stars - that's what you see when you eat their friggin toffees.

The tooth wasn't the problem, after all, he knew the duty dentist at Seaside Dental (odd name for a dental surgery at Wagga Wagga) and they were open 24 hours. No...the REAL problem was the stars, how was he to find his way home blinded by the light of five class 4 stars. His problems were just starting........ then it hit him, it was obvious, how do you switch off the stars....

  5. Hi Fred, welcome........as a member of the ASC myself, my advise is, when you book an aircraft for flight tuition, make sure you havn't double booked an instructor.

The booking system does not allow you to book an already booked aircraft, however it does allow you to double book an instructor. This causes all sorts of problems and the occasional punch up LOL cheers. Pete W.

  6. Hi All,

Started on my Journey about 12 months ago at Gawler here in SA received my recreation flying licence in July (took me a while as I am 60+) endorsed on Jab 170 and now trying my hand on Jab 230. All Kudos to the instructors who helped me. Lots to learn still but I am looking forward to it. Purchasing my own 170 sometime in Dec Jan, depends when it finally arrives.

    Cheers

    Pete W.
