There are two Bantams listed in the current RAA website that could meet your price and spec requirements.
Can find them on the website but still no magazine in the mail box.
-
but it only needs ONE Chev!!!
-
That Aeropup is going to need one hell of a battery in the tail to balance the Chev on the nose.
Welcome abord,

A comment that totally confused the Kombi owner who knew that the only place for a fan on a Kombi was back of the motor

i understand that the termite mounds so common in the North are prodigious producers of methane.

It is interesting to google the registrations to see what went before.
Does anyone know why registrations in 1929 started with VH-UAA and only started to use the VH-AAA series 10 years later?

And so it came to pass that all was quiet on the forum since all the "now we are commercial" names received the dictum from on high of "thou shalt be moderated into the next Millenium" by the Master
-
Since the recent change in the regulations it is no longer an either/or situation.
When you spend the $3000 to get your RAA certificate all that time is credited towards your GA qualification.
In theory and with the co operation of the GA flight school you could get you GA ticket when the only GA flying you have done is during the GA flight test and the GA specific training:- instrument time/recovery from unusual attitudes and CTA entry.

Have a good look at the Skyranger
ticks all your boxes
robust, fun and easy to fly
reliable Rotax power
one of the cheaper to buy new
no kit is quicker from box to sky
250kg payload in RAA or 310kg VH experimental
can be tail dragger
cheers

Geof does ask
>>>>
But what does he want me to discover? Always bearing in mind that he may read this forum?>>>>
The role of the instructor is to instruct, advise and lead, while that of the student includes asking for clarification whenever the instruction is not sufficiently clear.
One has to worry about the instructor/student relationship when this question is brought to this forum and not direct to the instructor.
Otherwise brentc's answer holds for when East Sale is inactive.
When Eas Sale is active as far as I am aware an raa pilot in an raa plane CAN fly the corridor to West Sale with clearance from the East Sale controller as can the same pilot fly the coastal corridor with a clearance.

Yep
My understanding is that you could fly into controlled space provided that
a..your PPL with controlled airspace endorsement is current ie medical as well
b.. aircraft has an "approved" engine (I think that the 912 complies but not any two stroke)
c..aircraft has all the necessary aids, radio, transponder etc

I do some complex mail merge with nested "if..then" etc and found it impossible to get Word in Office '07 to merge to Eudora so went back to '03

..Hi Geoff, ..........if money wasn't the issue I'd probably buy a Foxbat, simply because of its visibility and STOL attributes, amongst other things...........Cheers, NeilThat is exactly the conclusion that I came to. Even ordered the Foxbat. Then did the sums and purchased a Skyranger with which I can do 95% of what I would have done with the Foxbat and even at today's prices $40,000 buys a whale of a lot of unleaded.
PM me if you want more info on my machine.

John did say
In order to exercise your PPL CTA endorsement your PPL must be current with current medical and current CTA authority.Hi All,........However if you have a PPL and an approved engine you can fly an RA-Aus registered aircraft in CTA.

PS is there a definition of an "approved" engine cf "certified"
engine?

When to give a mayday.?
In time for those listening to be able to do something.
Should it have been a Pan?
Who cares?
However my thinking would be Mayday when the situation is completely out of my control and Pan when I can still affect the outcome especially if by eliciting the assistance of those listening I could bias the outcome in my favour.

..which does have wings all-be-in stuck on with bees wax wings hence the "not too close to the sun" prohibition in the POH.
OzStork meanwhile don't need any wingy thingy on their new model since the power of their new OzStork/techrev hybrid engine device is such that wings are superfulous.

Using either technique during approach at the point of touchdown the upwind wing needs to be down to stop the wind getting under it.
.
What I aim for is to crab to round out then rudder it aligned with the runway and at the same time plant the up wind wheel.

With 350 hrs on my Skyranger a not dissimilar aircraft I am perfectly happy with the 80hp 912. Throwing more horses at a draggy airframe just makes more noise, more vibration, burns more fuel and does not get you there much earlier.
Having said that
with the relatively small price differential between the two engines most new builders seem to be going for the 100hp.

hydraulic lines should move OKIt's starting to come back to me now - we couldn't have toe brakes as it was very complex due to the fact that the seat is an integral part of the structure and doesn't move so the pedals are adjustable to suit your height. Adding toe brakes to adjustable pedals I think would be a nightmare as they would also have to be adjustableDavidh

Washout means that when the inboard portion of the wing stalls the outboard portion has not yet and consequently the ailerons still have some effect.

An interesting question.in other words doesnt somehting travelling at 60 knots have more inertia then something travelling at 20 knots? As I understand it an aircraft flying at 10 feet and 40 kts has the same inertia regardless of whether it has a 20kt head wind or 20 kt tail wind.
However take away the 10feet and the same aircraft is now trundling along the ground at 60kts in one case and 20kts in the other obviously a significant difference in inertia.
So where is the extra inertia going-to or coming-from? or have I missed (yet again) something here?
Davidh
PS
Please don't mention conveyor belts
