  6. hey guys; this is sorta for an a school assigment sorta not any way the concept was we had to think up A "NEW" or improve an invention idea or service, so i thought cause i like flying and al that whats something simple that is often overlooked or over complicated? and then the idea became the concept of; what if there was a computer program the you simply fill in the blank not over complicaded then this can simply be posted on a watch sheet to the relevent SAR department? along with proding a map or GPS compatible file that you simple loaded onto your GPS and away you go? i guess it probly arleady exists; if so improvments what could be changed to make it better??
  7. thanks bert before reading on hear i didnt know there was such a helpful and infomative text for FREE which for a young bloke like me means alot :D ha ha they seem to be great books iv got the first one and am half way through reading it and its really good almost as good as any text book you would buy.
  8. well thats fair dinkum its probly a good idea but hopefuly it will never get to that point in australia, i mean they band laser pointers because of arrogant youth so if every one could use an airband radio? and yes even getting in at jandokot can be hard during the "peak hour"? i dont think i will try getting an airband radio in my car unless in the near future we have an airstrip built on our property. which probly wont happen, has any one else thought of installing something like this in their car?
  9. yeh you do need a license to operate a airband radio from the ground other wise it would be open slather and the talk would be so much so that getting an ETA or clearance would be a hassal the idea of getting a scanner is simply because i spend time on un controled airfeilds and around airfeilds in general for one reason or another i also live near one so its just interesting to know what coming and goinging, and were everything is. purly for interest oh and they pick up police frequencies but thats not important to me.
  10. you guys know more about radios than me dose any one know if this one will do the job cheers all Uniden BCT15X Mobile Base Scanner
  11. um yeh same concept exepc you can mount it into a car. thats a desk unit. but its a good lead
  12. can you get a scanner that mounts into your car tho?? iv got a uhf but i want a mounted scanner?? any ideas were to find one??
  13. ok well im getting my RA-Aus licenes soon any how but abliviosly you still couldnt transmit from the ground unless you have the license to do so? any ideas were i could find a car mounted scanner?
  14. i just got a new ute and i spend alot of time around airfeilds so my idea was is it possible to get a radio mounted in you car?? is it legal? if you can any recomendations as to were to get one from or advice on how to set one up would be great. Cheers all
  15. starting younger is better, my mate wants to become an airline pilot and he didnt start in ultralights and is having some difficulties crasping the more advance concepts of flight. it makes a great starting point for your carrer in aviation its affordable and teaches you alot of stuff. RA-Aus has just started a jounior membership program thats will mean you can do all your training but not go solo till your 15 as soon as your 15 you can go solo which is a big plus. :D

i have read the articel and all critisism is welcome if you think you have a better idea i welcome it but im not really for STOL aircraft i like them but i want a plane for cruising and and taveling long distances. :d im aware of the current situation with the 601XL however Zenith claims the these CH650 are there newest air craft and "they have resolved" the problem in this latest modle (CH650) there has veing significant modifications to the CH650 its not the 601 (misconception) there has being changes to the wing roots in the 650 (so they say) :D thanks for all you feed bak i have looked at the mogan areoworks air craft i like the sierra however it is a little to expensive if the CH650 isnt what they say my next option is the sierra :D thanks all keep the advise coming :D

yeh iv looked them over there a nice aircraft but i idealy want a touring aircraft to star with i have a 4 wheel drive and quad to get to my shooting spots for now. the main us for it will nbe traveling between towns like wongan and busselton or places like that so a high crusing speed easy use and long range good power means im opting for a light sport aircraft and kits are cheaper:D

hey all in i have recently became very interested in the zenith line of air craft in piticular the Zodiac 601XL and ch 650. i was hoping this would be the place to go for a bit more of an insight as to what these aircraft are like. iv read every thing there is on the web sight. im just intested im looking to buy a kit some time and i want to know what are these like to build i have a fair idea of price? are they good to fly? do they live up to Zeniths expectations? are they a good aircraft any hint tip or anything i shoud know before blowing my life savings on one :D any info would be appreciated. thanks all
  22. hey all i hope you can help me out with this one i hope to start my training with in the year but to minimise time spent on the ground and all the i was hoping to buy the text book myself and study them before turning up makes sense but im not entirly sure which manuals are applicable or not. so i was hoping some one could tell me what books will help me??? im going for my RA-Aus certificate and then i will do my X-country. cheers all..
