  1. its good to keep a copy of both WAC and VNC charts as some include things the later dont. thats about all i can ad :D
  2. i havent being in this community for very long alsomst know time compared to some old salts, but i can say that there a very few people out there there that will openly accept younger guys like me who dont quite have the money to be "pilots" but have the asspiration and passion. decca clearly had a passion for aviation he was a good bloke i spoken to him on many occasions on the forum and he never had somthing negative to say. he was always supporting the new guys on the forum. but most of thats already being said god bless decca have fun id the clear blue sky. i feel for the family and friends the passing of a true blue good bloke rest in peace mate.
  3. i would love to have a read of that manual monty i dont have as drifter personaly but i use my mates alot and if things work out want to get one :D if you could foreward it to me my email is [email protected] that would be great
  4. your proberly right essentialy 1-2 g is nothing to me any more but when i first started flying it was noticable but know i dont even flinch. it would be a good idea or after market g meters arent dear, my mate has a drifter but he dosent consider it necassary. its wire braced rated +6 -4 i think he said?
  5. Hey all just thought i would put this up i dont want to detract attention from the more important treads but iv started my training blog its under the blogs section of this site either under recent enteries you should be able to find it or http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/blogs/country-kid/paddock-pre-flight-15/ please have a read leave a comment im open to anything its only the pre-cusure theres more to come duh, hope you enjoy it. cheers CK
  6. if it fits into the MTOW and weights why not, RA-Aus and GA are seperated by weight why dose that mean we cant have dual engine endoursment. ha ha thats a very sleek looking plane.
  7. thats great that ever one is ok pitty about the plane but rather a smashed up plane than a fatality, good to see every one getting behind people who have had some trouble, hope everything goes well for you dexter. Cheers CK
  8. that is a very un-fair article with a very limited ammount of truth, definetly beating up meanial issues, :black_eye: im disgusted to think their are some people out their who beat up issues that are just meaningless, the truth is for the price RA follows the VFR sylabus that is set by the approptiate regulatory body so essentialy both streams of aviation are getting the same base knoledge, but our aircraft arent as big and thirsty which is were RA becomes cheaper, not because we cut corners on our training! thumb_down
  9. haha yeh that was the idea pud i the text books should be arriving befor the middle of next month.
  10. :keen:i spoke to glenn at sporting aviation academy today, he agreed to pick me up from cunderdine airfeild, in return i need to keep up-to-date with my studies (aviation studies that is) and wash one or 2 planes Oooooo hard work so i should have my first sortie of leesons within six months :thumb_up: and oh boy am i STOKED :thumb_up::thumb_up::rotary:
  11. ha ha the sense of freedom i dont have to take crap from other people no one nagging in my ear telling me i cant do something no one telling me im crap at this and that because you get so completly absorbed in what your doing and the best thing is NOone telling me i cant fly because i am doing it!!
  12. sounds like a great idea as long as the products cover the hole spectrum of recriational aviation not just accesories for say fixed wing air craft. and the like other wise +1 good idea:score 010: Cheers CK
  13. hey ash our local town strip was very much the same, the local farmers donated the gravel time and trucks to cart the gravel and they also suplied the graders to level it off, thats about were it stops becoming cheap but i have heard of some of the guys in the area using hard clay as when wetted down and rolled it forms a film on the surface so there is no dust and it is incredibly cheap. your only issue would be the location of the right type of clay and water? but it is a very cheap way of making a very smooth good quality airstrip. Cheers CK
  14. hey adrian look like things are coming along well. you certainly want to take your time and get the job wright the first time top job:score 010:
  15. hey darky iv seen a few set ups using a cheap set of cctv cameras on a recording loop running into a PDA, but thats a little expensive and is more semi perminent, you can use a web cam. and have a lap top set up on the RHS seat but depending on how much you would want to spend the best set up which is what iv got i use it for hunting its a camera build into a pair of sunglasses great idea really dosent cost that much and you can veiw the footage as you go on your phone the link for its hear http://www.usedguns.com.au/scopes_accessories.html#accessories hope this helps. Cheers CK
  16. ha ha sounds like me and my dad :D LMAO top stuff:score 010:
  17. ha ha happy birth day cam hope you have/had a good one :D BTW tomo have you ever told anyone your a poet or is dose it come with the job :D haha
  18. ha ha iv never thought of that puteroo with any luck i might be able to get me parents to pay the ferrying fee? after all it would be worht it for two or three hours of flying within a day? well having the text books and simply skimming over them when your bord definetly helps with the basic knoledge that would be needed. i will look into the cost of having glen come to wongan and see if it s worht it. but i thyink it would be its only one hour by road thanks for the advice puteroo:score 010: cheers CK
  19. ha ha iv being down to the gliding club a few times but money is an issue i like gliding its great fun but it costs money if you have a contact its normaly free i dont :( ha ha but its a good surgestion pud ha ha i fly for fun mazda GA is simply to expensive at the moment i might consider it later on tho
  20. ha ha well unfortunatly i do cadets a peerce RAAF and live in the wheat belt (2.5 hour drive) but cunderdine airfeild is on the back of my school :dog: i think iv found the solution talking to the director at my school he is offering interested students GA theory and occasional practical lessons know its not RA but its experience and most of the theory is the same? cheers all CK
  21. yeh that would be the shot shags :D ha ha i might see what i can do in the way of that sort of thing the only problem would be the distance to the nearest air feild?
  22. ha ha that is na tricky one i would simply say aviators cant go wrong then if you fly or love flying then your a aviator :D i think thats the most appopriate general term and then recriational aviator for those of us who fly for fun
  23. hey all just thought i would ask for some advice i have my school (sporting aviation academy (wildcatchem) iv got the text books ect sorted and reading them, and im saving the money but my parents refuse to even help me get there so i have to wait till next may to get my p' plates ok so what can i do between now and then to give me a head start other than study the text books any ideas? cheers CK
