There's constant reference to "flight crew", but nothing referring to individual GA or RA pilots. To me, the definition of "flight crew" pertains only to people involved in RPT.
"1.2 What is Flight Crew Licencing The flight crews discussed in the Flight Crew Licensing Procedures are pilots and flight engineers." This means that Flight attendants unless licenced as "flight crew" are not "flight crew".

For further amusement try this
https://www.casa.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-11/flight-crew-licensing-manual.pdf
Apart from the Nationals running a protection racket for Rex (and a gun in every house) and the opposition and Flight Centre running a protection racket for non-Oz airlines I am plumb out of conspiracy theories.
For better or worse, I fly into airports requiring an ASIC so against my better judgement I have an ASIC. I will add, however, that the airport owner has the right to impose a usage or entry condition and that may be the need to carry and display ASIC/AVID. So be it!

A bit of light reading can be found by searching for
AVIATION TRANSPORT SECURITY REGULATIONS 2005 - REG 6.57
Flight crew licences etc--requirements in relation to issue
Some more light reading
CASR Part 61 says
"
(1) CASA may, by written notice given to the holder of a flight crew licence or certificate of validation, require the holder to provide evidence of his or her identity in accordance with paragraph 6.57(1)(a) of the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005.
(2) The holder commits an offence if:
(a) CASA has not told the holder, in writing, that he or she has complied with the requirement; and
(b) the holder exercises the privileges of the licence or certificate.
Penalty: 50 penalty units.
(3) For subregulation (2), CASA is taken to have told the holder that he or she has complied with the requirement if CASA issues a new licence document or certificate of validation to the holder after giving the holder the notice.
(4) An offence against this regulation is an offence of strict liability.

Life is too very, very short to waste time searching fæcebook for AOPA stuff. It would be far better if AOPA used text and images rather than 2 hours of video. It would also help if they used email rather than fæcebook.

So I fly in to Coffs without an ASIC, taxi to the Aero Club, go inside for a cuppa. Ask someone for the gate code, fly home. No problem with ATC or anyone else there but due to an ill conceived and enacted system that does not enhance safety in any way this is Illegal?
At least you don't need a BP Carnet (scum!)

People complaining about potholes should stop complaining, learn to fly and buy an aeroplane, and an ASIC card.
Terrorists will not go to any airport with their Office Works box cutter if the airport has a security fence and ASIC airside protection regime installed.
We should be grateful for the safety ASIC has provided the community. It obviously works. There have been no terrorist hijackings in Australia since ASIC arrived. So it has proven itself 100% effective.
Are you sure that you're not confusing causation and coincidence?

At the very least, they have to offer a Rotax as an option.
A jab engine in a foxbat would be a great idea.

Hitting that squigly line icon brings up any plans you have previously created. They are saved automatically.
The plan is saved in the plans drawer (back out "<-" of the plans page. You can also save the plan externally by saving or sharing a GPX. You can also import a GPX and turn it into a plan. If you want to save a flight make sure you activate the plan, it will be saved under "flight History" in settings.

Has anyone found that the altitude is accurate using an ipad with ozrunways but always reads 100 ft higher with a samsung phone or tablet?
I haven't seen it read altitude higher on a Samsung/Android tablet/phone - can you provide an authoritative link? Maybe the iPads read low.

Yes, but .... (*what's the term?*) bargain regret?
How things evolve and the sudden expanded need for memory......
Nothing worse than needing and not having rather than having and not needing.
And I'd prefer a bigger screen.
Nah! but. I'm happy with the cheapy - Tab a7 Lite. It recently flew me from YSBK to YHID without missing a beat. The Tab S6 Lite stayed in the bag and I never felt the need to watch Hi-Def movies. And I have also done lots of planning to Carnarvon and Tasmania. The downside of any EFB, regardless of cost, is the inability to control the winds and rain.
RWY works best with at least 64Gig and mapping across to an SD card when you first buy is both cheap and easy.

The Tab A7 Lite 4G can probably be picked up for less than $400. It has enough grunt to run RWY but needs to have an SD card installed to expand the capacity beyond 32GB.
Maybe if you wanted to watch hi-def videos spending $850 might be justified but it is still like watching TV on a teeny-weeny small screen.
An extra $400 buys a lot of beers or AvGas.

I have an old tablet (android 4.3 I think)
It is out of support for upgrades of the O/S.
So what tablet would I need to get to be at least be a bit of future compatible.
Android preferable. I'm not an Apple person.
Tab S6 Lite is one but I am not sure it would work.
Thanks in advance.
Samsung Tab S6 Lite is a good choice and you get a stylus. It works well with RWY. Make sure you get the LTE (4G) version so you have a choice about using Mobile Data (Telstra if you want good coverage off the beaten track) I'm also using a Samsung A7 Lite 32GB LTE (with an extra 120GB of Storage) The A7 Lite (8") is great in a crowed cabin and performs reasonable efficiently.

The hexadecimal code provided by CASA is linked to the serial number of the SE2 so if the robber tries to use it it can be tracked. They cannot get another code for it and by deleting the code it will not work so it will be completely useless to the robber. You should report it stolen to CASA.
Both the Hex code and rego can be changed in the SkyEcho and should follow the codes in the transponder (hex Code) and the plane rego. If there is no transponder in the plane you use a Hex code supplied by CASA and the plane rego (XYZ or R1234). The SkyEcho serial number is unique and police, CASA or EBay might help.
I use mine on a variety of planes and change the transponder/rego codes or the CASA Hex/rego as required. I once forgot to change and my friends friends were asking why he had flown to Cessnock when in fact he was down at Griffith.😘

The 0.206" and 1/4 inch plugs/sockets are not metric - both probably American. The Inch and English are both imperial not American or French.

Helicopters have a "Nato" plug ...seems to be a hold over from the military copters and never changed
Or the two plugs are a carry over from the Wright Bi-plane comms and, like imperial measurements in the US, have never been superseded.

Shame raaus this time did not even make an attempt to call for nominations in accordance with with requirements of the constitution.
real shame is the govt corporate regulator has directly said that it’s up tot the members to hold the company management to account and after 6 years of asking I’m over it.
maybe one of the actual board members might take an interest in running elections correctly … and can pm me here - I have up sending all board member emails.
In what way was the call for nominations not in accordance with the rules?
