  1. The super diamond has the same spars and fuse tube sizes as the sierra, this makes it well over strength approx 15G aircraft and a lot more in the fuse, so a redesign of materials will reduce a lot of weight, and it will still carry a very good payload, and still look like a real aeroplane, The prototype with a 90lb 503 rotax was 185kg.

  2. The Cheetah Sierra 24-7634 ( The Phoenix ) left the ground late on Thursday for a hop, and flew on Friday. The aircraft only had a very slight right turn, the motor ran rich, and found today the hose clamp holding the scat hose on the the air box to our fiberglass crobra head, had deformed the fiberglass, that caused the air to turbulate. Should be back for the flying school in a few days. I would like to thank all the helpers that came in to help rebuild the aircraft, it has been a big effort.

  3. The glider name will be Morgan, it will be a lot longer than the Sierra about 1.8m. The wing is a new design due to the much higher bending load, and wing thickness starts at 15% at the first join it is 11%, and at the tip it will be 18%, this is typical of most new gliders to reduce the amount of wash out, and improve handling at low speed, and keep the wing efficent. We have a 912ul motor to go in it ,which will give a 90kts cruise.Alan I will have a drawing out soon.we have made a canopy with a much lower curve, this we made out of a 3m long bubble .

  4. A new project is under way a 18m span motor glider, this has a 6 piece wing, we will remove the outer panel which will be 1.5m shorter span than the sierra, so it can be placed into a hangar with out taking up to much space, one man can rig and derig the aircraft. It is 2 place side by side, all metal construction, powered by a 80hp rotax and cruise 90kts, the wing loading solo will be 34kg and max load 43kg per sq m.

  5. Gents, we have developed an improved Sierra 100 nose landing gear with suspension, to replace existing and new build aircraft.

Suspension and travel limits is via a urathane spring system and offers a light weight alternative to any steel spring components. If you intend landing on any type of unsealed runway, this could be of interest to you.

  7. We are starting a new aircraft this week, it will be a 17m span (6piece wing) the outer pannel will be removable to the size of the sierra to go into the hangar ,of fully derig, Two seat side by side ,80HP Rotax power plant up front ,low wing, polly headral wing, It will be restisered with GFA but can also be with RAA, An all metal aircraft, it will be avaible as plans ,kit or built. It is intended as a touring motor glider, but with a wing loading of 34 solo to 43kg per sq m two up will also have a reasonable glide performace of 25-1

  8. I have used all flying tails for a very long time on many aircraft, the saphire has the tail spar pivot a little to far back, if it was foward a little it would be more stable the bungge trim is a good idea to inprove this , they are a light aircraft and you would expect it to be light on the controls, they are still one of the best single seat aircraft around after more than 20 years, good on you Scott.
