Engine contaminated with Jabiru fuel?

sounds like everyone made it out alive.
Aren't RV12s Rotax powered?

Slightly off topic, but has the RAA ever pulled someone's licence for aerobatics or other rule breaking?

expensive?

The real advantage with the jazz engine is that once you own the PSRU and all the accessories, changing over motors is a lot cheaper than reconditioning a Rotax.

That laser cut plywood construction would be awesome to build with, like a model plane but bigger.

he is a rec flyer, he wouldn't be flying that low to hit power lines

Police reporting the incident of the tail damage from having hit power lines!

that is interesting, designed in Australia, built in China and sold in America.

It would good to see some meaningful breakdowns of those stats, ages, new pilots, transitions from GA, etc. but I doubt the RAA is going to release them

hope you get your plane back flying soon!

no short field landings, must be serious the news article is updated to say that he is getting sent to Brisbane for surgery which must mean tendons or major blood vessels have been damaged. Not a good start to your flying career.

the only way they could get close to the fence to hit it, is during taxiing for a short field take off/landings.

good thing I wasn't out there today! hope everyone is ok

at a guess, you take the maximum take off weight and multiply that by the max load factor + safety margin. spread proportionally along the wing by the lift factor. you need to test the wing as unit.
eg 600Kgs x (4g + 1g) = 3000kgs
thats a lot of sand bags

You don't use the term AJ to identify ADF members? Its short for Army Jerk
They told him that the plane was low on fuel and they couldn't land unless the strip was lit up? sounds like a typical AJ.

$15K seems a lot for an auto conversion. I was quoted $2.5K for a honda engine with less than 10k on the clock.
