  1. Brendon we have a 701 - 601 - and a 750 in the brisbane area. The 701 is flying the other two are to fly this year.

Our kits took about 6 weeks from factory to Brisbane.

You are quite welcome to come and visit anytime.

  2. The 601XL - B has a modified wing ,centre wing carry through, aileron counter balances and other modifications.

To my knowledge there has been no other wind failure to a modified 601XL.

There was also a large pilot education on the proper flying ability of the aircraft and maintenance of thing like control cable tensions. This was also a problem with the 601.

Looks like it all has been fixed now.

  3. Just left the Zenth factory and had a chance to fly the CH 750. Few like a dream and much bigger than the CH701. We had a good look over the new CH 750 Cruise while we were there. They are just about ready to ship the first kits out. No slats but the leading edge has been brought out further to compensate for no slats. Flys faster than the standard 750.

  4. Hi there Scotty. I sent my carby over to the states and then picked it up while at Oshkosh. This was about 4 years ago and at the time i think it cost me about $50.00 to send by Aus Post.

They do a brilliant job on them. For $200.00 it looks like they are sending back Fedx. Ask if they will send back by USPS. that should only be about $50.00.

I looked at a company at the airport on the sunny coast and he wanted $1000.00 to rebuild it including the kit. (no way)

Hope you plane is coming along.

  5. We are going this year, this will be our 4th visit. Definitely a must do. We stay at the University of Wisconsin. Not the Hilton quality but also not the Hilton prices. Only $65.00 per room per night (sleeps 2). Buy a big fan from Walmart for under $20.00 ( We just leave them there when we come home). Meals at the canteen ( breakfast and dinner) at around $8.00 to $12.00. Bus right from the uni door to the airfield and back for $20.00 for the whole week.

  6. From the factory in the USA is the way to go. We ordered one from them and ordered the wrong prop hub by mistake. I just called him on the phone and he just send over a new one for me no questions asked. I then just sent the wrong one back. Also by bying direct from them they keep a record of what you have and if you ever nead to replace any thing they know what you have.

  7. I have not heard officially, but have been told that the the canopy open during flight. If the canopy opens it will pull up and then force the plan down.

There is no way you will be able to pull it back down.

This is has been rectified by the requirement to install a secondary latching system.

  8. Hi the Akazia.

  9. Yes. We flew from LAX to Vegas return one year. They are safe they have had they 3 crashes so they won't have another.

They take things literally thou. We had 10 family members flying on that trip and when I approached the counter the girl asked me where we would like to sit. Being and Aussi I said 10 windows seats please. she laughed and just kept tapping away on the key board. A few minutes latter she appoiagised and said that she could only get 8 window seats. I then said to her that I was only joking. We were spread from the front row right through to the back row with no less than two rows between any of us. On the way back I just shut up.

  10. It is not as big as Oshkosh but still is worth seeing. We whent last year and spent 3 days at the show. This was a comfortable length to be able to get arround and see it all as well as some of the air shows.

We stayed in Orlando (Disney World) and drove down each day. It took about 35 minutes and there was no traffic problems.

    Parking was also a breeze.

There are not as many large planes like at Oshkosh but plenty of Lsa and experimental types.

We had a ball there but we are heading back to Oshkosh again this year.

  11. We are heading over for the third time,

As Riley said, on our second trip over we found a whole section of the air field that we missed on the first trip.

We stay at the University, but i think it now fully booked by now.

When you get there dont forget to go to the international visitors tent and register.

You can also leave messages on the Australian section of the notice boards.

We are also leaving 23rd July from Brisbane into LAX over nighting and Chicago the next day then drive to Oshkosh.

    Might see you there.

  13. We have finally fired up the Corvair engine. After a little tinkering around with the points we got it started. It ran very well and pulled like a baxxxrd. We can now get on with the final wing fitting and get the thing up to the airport for testing.

I have put up a few minutes of the engine run.
