I canot believe the BS being written here, the aircraft had a major defect and can only be repaired IAW manufactures procedures .as per usual here everybody has an opinion about illegal repairs an then complain about the authorities wanting to inflict more regulations .l do know the facts because i am the engineer who said the aircraft could not be flown facts which i will not share on a forum with people in whos aircraft i would not fly in if they are maintained by the metods descibed

You only need a condition report if the aircraft is being sold. if only an annual inspection and only used for private operations you may do it on your level one authority if you are confident to carry out the maintenance a level 2 is only required if used for hire and reward

The jabiru and rotax charging systems are not suitable for liFePo4 batteries to many spikes as Ralph said the powermate regulator cures the problem ,charge rate must not exceed 14.6 volts

The aircraft was doing a formation landing therefore the pilot woul have only been looking to his left at the other aircraft only the lead aircraft would be looking forwardI agree the pilot stuffed up but **** happens even to the best of us. You still should not have solid stuff in the area that can save a stuff up.Remember we plan airfields to account for safety room, when bad things happen. We all condemned putting shopping malls on the edge of airports, why is a lift machine on the edge of the grass runway OK?"Stupid is as stupid does"- Forrest Gump.

That info is from the service manaulThat's a power transistor, part of the PA circuit. Either a driver or final, have not looked up the specs, ( busy at the mo ) to see if it has the capability of delivering 5 watts RF output. . . .I don't normally feck about with circuits / components without a service circuit diagram. Which I lent out ( fatal ) some time ago. . .If you are interested, look up the spec on the device, and see if it delivers 5W at 50% duty cycle, class 'A' or more likely 'AB1' ( more efficiency) on VHF / AM. Midband. ( You already know the frequency area )Mick W

Incorrect all aircraft are required to fly off a test schedule check tech manual section 3That is for GA and SAA aircraftIf in RAA and you build a recognised kit like a Savannah or a Rans etc there is not that requirement. Anything you design and intend to fly then thats a whole different matterMick W

Read AC 21.4. It tells allFor example if you are in Canada they can it seems Unique regulations in Canada allow builders to contract for the professional assembly of kit aircraft; the Zenith CH 650B and STOL CH 750However in Australia can I employ a LAME or similar person for example to build or mostly build an VH Vans RV for example?
If not, how would anyone really know?
Or how many years am I facing breaking the rules if found out?

We are almost at the stages of starting the repaint on my Auster into its original colour scheme. Our intention was to use dope over the fabric and two pack on the metal surfaces. Unfortunately the paint supplier who we normally use (Pheonix at Bankstown) is in the process of moving and will not be able to mix paints for another couple of monthsAny suggestions on a good supplier I could go to ? We will be getting them to mix based on british standard colours
Phones paints have today shipped fabric cement to me made to order
Product price great frieght great ripoff

Refer raaus airworthiness notice 08082014If its VH registered then the CASA dual inspections apply - it its RAAus registered or HGFA registered then the respective tech manuals apply and not the CASA requirements ... they are part of the exemptions. And in saying this I am not trying to play word games to avoid safety related issues but to clarify what the requirements are.
