    Dacron testing??

Luckily im getting mine deleivered . Get to test it before i have to fly it, the bloke im buying it off has no problem with flying it but i will feel much safer if i test it out before I go for a fly. Thanks everyone for the replies Ive got a Bettsometer in the post at the moment, thanks heaps to riley for his generosity. Ill give it a test with it and the thumb test. Has anyone heard of dacron covers giving way in a great hurry or do they usely rip then stop?Would be in a bit of trouble if you were flying around and all of a sudden had a big rip in your main wing cover. 7. For a comp $75 a day and you get about 1-2 mins actual ski time for that Sking with your own boat hate too think of the cost fuel alone would be about 30 litres an hour

  9. Just as a comparision guys ive only just started flying and i think the prices are definetly resonable if not cheap. I barefoot waterski competitevly the cost of membership to awwf (australian waterski and wakeboarde federation) is $285 a year then I have to pay another $50 to my local club all this just to compete and have insurance we dont get any monthly magazine. So in comparision raa membership is heaps cheaper.

  13. Yeah I'm starting to think it won't work. But trying to find a hangar is proven very difficult or expensive to build. Oh well I'll work something out
  14. Funny thing only bout two months ago had a pretty bad accident with some petrol and burnt my left arm neck and face all good now long story short, im now copping the "smokey bacon" and "crispy bacon" from mates now here!!!
  15. Yeah mate I am actually just got my restricted licence this arvo!!
  16. Hey tomo Dont think I have met you yet but bob has mentioned your name a few times. Just finished my licence this arvo with him actually very good feeling now for some fun flying then onto the cross country. Its a bit of a pain the hangar shortage, yeah i was thinking that the wind may be a problem have to do a bit more research i think. Went to kilcoy airstrip today to look at a drifter there for sale for a small town with a grass strip they have a awesome amount of hangars there, very jealous of them airstrip is right along side of somerset dam and everthing. They are great fun to fly the drifters done ten hrs in a tecnam before starting with bob and the drifter is so much more fun!! hope to meet ya out at the strip some time. Bacon
  17. Dont think im gunna have any luck with a spare hangar space. Ive talked to punkinhead covers about a full cover for a drifter they can make one out of uv resitant material that should protect the dacron from fading and perishing in the sun. Just wondering if anyone has kept a drifter out in the weather for a period of time or think i would be able to with this cover?? thanks bacon
  18. Hi guys I've noticed theres a few guys on here from around dalby and was hoping you could help me out. Im just finishing my licence with bob at avid aviation and im looking at buying my own drifter only problem is there is no spare hanagared at dalby aerodrome that I know of. So im wondering if any of you know of a space in a hangar at the aerodrome or even on private property outside of dalby that would be intersted in renting out some space. Or even if someone else is having the same problem that would be interested in spilting the costs of building a small hangar since there is council land set aside at aerodrome for just that reason. thanks in adavance for anyone that may be able to help Cheers Bacon
  19. Haha thanks its kinda a nickname i didnt have a choice about its my last name

    Drifter Pics

Hi Maj Is that drifter in the photos all tarped up yours? Im looking at buying one and out here at dalby hangar space is non exsitent if its possible to tarp them like that and the skins and everything last with sun and weather it may be an option for me until I build a hangar. Got me a lil excited about it now!! Cheers Bacon
