What were the failures?new engines or repaired?Somethings very wrong for that to happen
Hi
The first new engine run for about 30min andthen when we removed the cowls and doing checks when we seen paint peeling from one barrel. When we removed the paint it was blue fom heat.
This was also making a noise as well on that cylinder. So was replaced
Next engine
We repalced engine with another new engine that jab supplied and it lasted 15-20 hours and then one day in downwind the engine made loud bang and the prop stoped.
After a forced landing i went to retreive the plane and the engine had locked up.
I then removed plugs from engine to find a smashed plug.We are not sure what happend in the end with the engine Jab replaced with another new one.We think a piston let go or a rod.
After a few phone calls to Jab they then told us that they had changed there piston supplier.

We have just fitted the new ground adjust sensinich prop on 6cly jab engine in our brumby.
Its very smooth but i still dont think its as good as the revolution prop.
They do have a nice stainless leading edge.

Hi Fellows
I have all but finished a X-Air Hanuman with stickers and paper work required for rego. I looked over a period of two years at all the kits on the market and value for money and the X-Air Hanuman came out on top. The Sky Ranger came second it is a good kit but my head hit the bar overhead and could not lower the seat enough for clearance. The Hanuman ticked all the boxes for me for I am 6ft 125 kilos and still fit. The Dealer Michael Coates was very helpful in any information that I required so a kit was ordered. Found the instrctions very basic for a new builder but help not far away in the dealership or other builders, more detailed instructions available on the net.

So what way did you put those pistons in?

We have a glassed coated Sensinich timber prop on one of our Brumby aircraft with the J3300 engine and seems to be good. We will be trialing the new ground adjustable Sensinich prop when they arive from the states in the next few days.
We will be running one on a jabiru 3300 and a rotax 912.

I am also running a ivo prop on a 582 on a thruster, and also ran one on a 582 in a se5a biplane with no problems.

Mate have you got a picture of how the carbs are on the engine. The other ting to do is put a fuel pressure gauge on it and run it and see what it does.
-
Well i just fitted the elec start to my r582 over the last couple of days.I just started it and i am just using a motor bike battery.
Will put some pictures up later of it.

My thruster only uses the small wheels as well and have no brakes at the moment.
This is no longer than 50m or so.
Was going to fit brakes to mine but thought its just more weight to put on it.

Thanks very much for that tony.
Would be aloy easyer if some one had one to copy and make a mold of.
Some one must have one laying around even if its broken a bit and could be bogged up and used as a plug.
Thanks Thommo

Tony
Thanks very much for the reply,
Will keep in contact with you about this machine as i have heard that this aircraft is a "bitsa".This aircraft would be the best thruster that i have flown.
Thanks Daniel

Many thanks Don.Later the aircraft was cannablised to rebuild a TST E and the pod went on the blue T85BG. The entire T100 wings are on the TST E that was (up until recently anyway) owned by Bruce Barcham. I have been trying to get the wings for a long time as I have the entire T100 tail unit (that is quite different to standard).
Hey OK I am a Thruster crank! It keeps me off the streets!
Aye
Tony
