  1. Hi SCK

    Welcome Fella!

CPL and cheap don't usually fit in the same sentence! One feel's it best you look for good value, as sometimes things that look cheap turn out some other way.

The advice someone gave me all those years ago was "Do It In The Bush" as this is also most likely where you will get your first start!

And yes I started working with the organisation with whom I had done my Training. Suppose this all depends on which angle you are aiming for once you have your CPL. Meaning what particular facet of aviation you would like to be involved in!

Just my 2 bob's worth, All The Best and maybe we shall see you somewhere along the way!

  2. Winds have settled down here in SA.

Would love to come to Tumut, tis where I learnt to fly, however someone wants thier Urea spread on Sunday over here!

Meant to be a nice weekend here in SA, hope all is good for Tumut, Have Fun. Say hello to everyone for me!

  3. Thanks Ian

We all do some silly thing's in our lives, sometimes we don't get away with it!

People who are extremely tired can make much worse decisions than those who are maybe just a little over the limit!

  4. Very Interesting thought's from above!

As someone said you have to make the money while it is there for the taking, and in my industry there is plenty of gaps between the good times. (Agricultural Industry)

We have a great deal of difficulty finding people who have some common sense and who are willing to work odd hour's. Our industry runs for extremely busy period's, then has extremely slow periods. Just how it is!

Have seen many people leave this industry for the supposed consistancy (spelling) of some other industry!

If it keeps raining and the locusts arrive as expected we will need to work 24/8 to just keep up with it, well maybe keep up!

There definately won't be enough of us! Either pilot's or ground crew.

As me mum has mentioned "Agriculture is the most respected form of Gambling" How True!

What a Challenge! and the Rosey future moves on!

  5. Welcome Dave

Just a thought on buying something from OS, (just thinking about the Zulu, it would have to be returned to the purchase place if it required warranty) seems to negate the saving on purchasing it internationally!

does this then mean you have to send an engine back if it has any warranty challenges?

as one may feel it would be unfair to expect local distributor's to supply warranty if they have not supplied the original component!

    Just A Thought!!!!!

What's the feeling? or more to the point, What actually happens?

  6. Hi Darky

Don't forget that MOST ! instructors are actually human! Hope you have one of these! Not one that has forgotten where they have come from!

We were all there at one stage or another, doing test's etc. Not that much fun, however designed to put us through the paces so we feel we are able to rise to any situations which may or may not occur.

    You Can Do It!

Do some practice while you are driving your desk at work, rehearsing it in your mind will put you along way in front of your self!

You Can Do It, You Can Do It, You Can Do It, You Can Do It!

Catching the Kero burner this evening bound for Oshkosh and a few other spot's in the Sate's, You Have Fun!

  7. When I started to Power fly it cost $65/ hour, though I reckon may wage was about $200 before tax a week for 48 hours.

Todays cost, by what is called the average wage, it is now probably less expensive, percentage wise.

And your average Airline Pilot get's paid less than 30 years ago, no I am not an airline pilot! And has to pay for his/her endorsement. Talking with a mate the other day, just did his Airbus endorsement, took him away from work for six weeks and cost him about 28k. Forgot to ask him what he will get paid when he actually starts with the airline!

So "How do we pay for it" Just keep working!

Oh and my car is an XY Fairmont!

  8. Hi Peter
