Ah! That's the same as the Belite system (I have and am trying to replace) that no one seems to have any luck getting to work consistently. As far as I am concerned its a con - Thanks but but thanks.☺️

    hi skippy

belite was the aircraft side of the business before a major fire  radiant was the in struments. the instruments were all he was left with after fire . ive used the low level system although i never had it activate ,i have a twin tank gauge set-up ( which i haven`t used i will bench run it sometime to see how well it works )  i`m surprised that james wasn`t able to give you satisfaction with your issues , he was always very much a hands-on person

  2. hi all

for those of you who have EQ-1 Wireless headsets sitting in in a faulty condition in the cupboard  i spoke with this chap recently & he is willing to look at repairs to these headsets  based on an appraisal  (free) he admits there is no manuals etc around but he has a working knowledge of them  to be able to effect repairs if he can .  contact him & send if you are interested

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YUENY-ANR2888-Best-Value-ANR-Aviation-Headset-Available-/262763015311  i found these on e-bay recently  i questioned the seller about parts /repairs etc & he advised that he does the supply of parts /maintenance  etc  himself   & is QLD -based  they come in STD & bluetooth  models

has anyone  tried them to see how good the chinese quality is ??

i haven`t been able to find any reviews as yet to see what the general feeling is about them

is anyone currently using one to give a review ???? or point to a review page about them

see the range of gauges / sensors it take s fuel management to a new level/ thinking

i have a dual fuel guage /sender set ( previous model ) which i was going to fit to my jabiru but won`t currently with the dynon but maybe if i feel an up-grade /replacement is needed

wow that's nice and clean.  Consult your LAME , L2 or A&P for info .
dont worry about it. just ensure NOTHING is rubbing on it.
It's not just random tube- it is high temperature, durable,  expensive sh1t

that was a random photo for effect my bay is showing its age

  5. hi

my description seems to be confusing some of you  the tubing has a spring coil on the inside to stop it collapsing & a thread wound up the spiral on outside to maintain integrety of pipe . it connects the carbir to airbox & airbox to intake duct there is also a smaller Dia pipe supplying hot air to carby

when it has been cut to length there is no terminnation of wire or thread leading to eventual soft end which is hard to push on pipe & then secure with hoseclip  see attach photo of pipe type i was referring to it may well have a more technical  name

  6. hi

current replacement cost of a 2200 engine cooler  is $495  another contributor pointed to a unit in the states priced at  approx $260AU  similar units supplied from aust  around 1/2 price

What happened to your existing one? How much do Jabiru want for their ‘gold plated’ one and do you have a photo of your old one? Because I have a spare 2200 cooler that was supplied by Jabiru, but I believe they have had a couple of different versions!

it has an impact in lower LH region of cooler (see white mark )which has split the core . this was lucki;ly discovered after a short flight before the sump emptied

this is the version of cooler i`m looking for , the offerings so far would all need a modified bkt to fit & time to fit in the bush  + time which i`m short of planning trip to town in 3 weeks so need a direct fit replacement  even if reluctantly have to shell for the expensive one jabiruoilcoolerfrt.thumb.JPG.04d04c59fe956f4c01243f7c38a1cd54.JPG

  7. hi

as i`m stuck in a remote location i don`t have all i need to mod mounts etc to fit any of the current offered coolers  this would need a new set of brackets to fit & possibly other refinements .

the other off a 6 cyl similiar work to fit  (brackets etc ) so i think i`m stuck with the gold plated jabiru version

     thanks for your time

  8. hi all

there is an operator using the guise of a legit govt agency  who has been suspectedof grog & drug running they seem to have the community on side (ready supply antedotal evidence )  police etc have been made aware& on the case . concerned agencies want to build a case without showing their hand  at this point  for the relevant authorities to then prosecute

just a thought would some sort ofADS-B receiver  & an APP to log activity for later review ?

  9. hi all

i know this is an old topic but i want to see who has recently done any work on U/C wheel alignment ??

i have asked jabiru the supported method  pack with washers -test /check & flock final result

nowhere in the responses did i read how you all made bolts holding axle fit ( 1 response "i just bent the bolts " jabiru suggest -"elongate holes in leg until the bolts slide through the assy " )

i wondered if instead of washer packing & flocking i could get a 3D-printed shim (what material ?) a machined metal shim ?

or use JB -weld liquid steel to flock the washer method instead of resin

who has any thoughts or used any of suggestions to solve camber problem ??

    thanks for your thoughts

    hi

"The wooden prop is a fair way down on efficiency compared the the composite prop- it bends.  the composite prop is a great upgrade."

the prop on the J-160  i understand was replaced in recent past so i`m wondering what prop i have fitted  ( are no`s easy to read without removing the prop )

i had composite prop on my previous J-120 aircraft  (definitely agree on up-grade )

will get a set of no`s  next flight  (cost of fuel is not making it easy to fly for pleasure at the moment  in the bush - $3.60 P/L)

    hi all

found ID on prop when i checked this morning

    DWG 000242

    D=60    P=42

    jab 2200

    something to ponder

  12. hi

this additive is expensive  how many jab owners are using ??

i have always used a bit of upper cyl lube

no additives seem to have the blessing of the factory  but any use seems to be by popular opinion

guick search seems to have the blessing of the rotax factory  will like tosee some more opinion on it
