  1. My boat ........ well it would be a boat but can't upload the photo. Oh well ho hum!!
  2. ....and a straightforward 95.10 registration. Last year it took about 5 weeks with several hiccups cause of changes that had been made to my 95.10 and this year it took just 11 days. Faxed details including payment stuff on the 29th September and got an email around the 2nd October saying that my payment details were incorrect so rang ra-Aus after checking payment details were actually correct and got my registration card etc in the mail yesterday so all is good cause the rego didn't expire till next Tuesday.
  3. A bit more riveting, filing, deburring, swearing later.........and I learned that the word recalcitrant used with a few other words words can help achieve the end result!
  4. I actually know of a person on this site who uses more than one pair of them at a time to increase visual acuity
  5. Thanks for the tip JeffC. Nothing quite like trying to line up 3/32 holes in adverse lighting! Shopping list for next optometrist visit is plain reading glasses
  6. A bit more work later ........... .........and I learned that I do not like my multifocal glasses when looking upward to find 3/32 holes to back drill into skins
  7. An upside down fuselage with some skin.......at long last!
  8. Anyone out there has or knows of someone who may have fitting blocks for landing gear legs for a quicksilver GT (400/500 - they are the same). I have attached a diagram of the piece I'm looking from my manual.
  9. Manufacturer is the opposite of the Morgans in that he is highly qualified in Aviation engineering. Terms and has high level CASA approvals. "you'll go straight to hell for that one" Mr Ramsay but I remember the Golf wasn't too bad really but it was a few years ago now and I can't comment on brumbies
  10. A unique home design with a bit of this and that. The project was started in March last year and I am hoping that it will completed around the middle of 2015. I've been lucky enough to know someone who is helping me out with the actual design and facilities to do this in and also facilitate my learning along the way.
  11. Like a plane I hope! It is a scratch build and started out from 12x4ft sheets of metal. It was not pre-drilled, pre-cut, or pre-fabricated. This is the bits that I have made for the starboard flaperon which I will be riveting over the next few days. This follows the starboard wing & the port wing & flaperon which I have done & the fuselage frame pretty well done. I think that makes some of my plane :-) If you are asking whether it will resemble any other plane, that's is a yes /no answer. The idea is that it will be specifically for me.
  12. ....... another riveting weekend coming on
  13. ...and my other question is ..... Where do I find a link to the online L1 exam?
  14. Does anyone know what the name of the seat covers in this photo are called?
  15. Thanks - now I know the port wing & flaperon I completed in December & the starboard wing is now riveted and I began the starboard flaperon last Monday night.
  16. It's a scratch build of a prototype eighty knots and I'm not up to date with the terminology such as starboard & port guys. So if someone wants to let me know the right way to describe stuff I'm happy to receive that knowledge. By the way I'm a "she". It is also the first time I have built anything although I've flown a few different types of planes.
  17. Thanks - the world is full of acronyms
  18. Actually I did advise them at the time of renewing my registration Maj but I will do it again :-(
  19. Just on the subject of the RA-AUS website - on registrations. My aircraft is shown as still having the original motor when I replaced it last year and advised RA-AUS that I had done so. Was wondering if updated information is meant to show up or is it just the original information when the plane was first registered?
  20. Ha ha!! Yes the left wing was finished about 6 months ago and it's on the other side of the fuselage frame and the fuselage frame is all pinned together. I have the wheels and the motor is on its way.
  21. One right hand wing partly completed but what a riveting weekend of deburring & priming & filing.
  22. Maybe he was a victim of a build up of circumstances - a bit like being a driver of a car that is below standard on below standard roads with some below standard driver training but you have a piece of plastic that says "you can do it" so ambition exceeds ability. Flame me!
