  1. I met Neil and some of the others who flew the Shuttleworth Collection (and did some flying in normal aeroplanes with a couple of them). Neil's book "Aerobatics" is marvellous reading.I acquired "Airborne" some time later and think I understood how he came to die.

Yes, it was a real tradgedy! Especially considering the near misses he survived before being killed. A reminder that it can happen to us all I guess.

For anyone who hasnt read his books yet I would suggest reading them asap!

  2. I will say this, some operators have had a great run. Some operators have had a not very good run. BOTH operators have maintained them by the book. I still after all these years have no idea why this is so. Reminds me of my favourite book by Ernest K Gann. Fate is the Hunter.

Hey, your right about Fate is the Hunter! Great book havent read it in years, well worth a re-read. He had a few other books that were quite good as well. Names of these elude me at moment.

  3. I know they banned spins in the Tomahawk after a few lost their tails. They certainly made a lot of noise during stalls. Long time ago now.

Not too many ac about with T tails. Is a T tail weaker than a more conventional type arrangement? (dosent look as strong) or are they not popular for other reasons?

  4. I could look at getting some development done, will cost money though, to enable permissions where a user can create a thread in an Instructors forum and ONLY the Instructors and the person creating the thread can view the thread and its posts.PLEASE remember that this site should NOT be a substitute for your own Instructor but rather as a 2nd opinion or if you don't have access to an Instructor or for information before going to your own Instructor

Yeah, your right, guess it is more problematic to set these things up in reality! Seems simple enough untill you start looking at the practical problems involved in something like this!
