  1. "If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys"

Cant say I agree with that one

Look at the world financial crisis we just went though paid obseen amounts and still got monkeys

I think that saying belongs in the bin with the same quote

    "Hard work never hurt anyone"

I think maybe you get better poeple who want to be there and make a differance and are not totally driven by money.

Sorry folks but just had to say this

  2. Hi All

What worries me about RAAus is I feel that at one time it was an organization that represented its members/pilots but seems to be turning into a burocracy dictating to the members/pilots!!!!!!

Also regards the mag I dont think a mag that is sold to anyone at newstands can have articles in it for members only therefore I feel a membership supplement should be included in the mag for members only.

Unfortunatly there will be breakaway groups if RAAus doesnt sort membership dissatisfaction out and talking to various members there is dissatisfaction growing

  3. Hi All

Anyone advise on the differance between Araldite K106 Epoxy glue and T-88 Epoxy glue

I have looked at the specs on both glues but as they are in differant units are hard to compare.

I have use both glues and to me T-88 seems to be useable at lower temps.

I am interested to hear other opinions

    Cheers

  4. RAAus !!!!! Hmmmm Wages blow-out, secrecy, Instead of Minimum Bureaucracy heading down the path of Maximum Bureaucracy. RAAus !!!!! Hmmmmm is this the beginning of the end. Maybe its time for the RAAus to have a long hard look at itself and check where its going. Maybe time for all us members to take a more active interest in where the Board and Administration are leading us.

Must admit I was concerned about this when Middo left.

  5. What ever the case maybe we should we reducing crap we are putting in the atmosphere and other pollution not to mention the growing world population

What nurks me about this perticular climate change case is that it seems to be being setup so someone can make heaps of money at our exspence.

  6. "Concerning the ASIC card, $160 bucks every two yrs, not tooooo bad considering some other things these days."

Its not only $160 bucks for the ASIC card (which I most proberly need but most proberly wont need) but the $160 bucks for everything else I need

Look at the way the RAAus is going now we got endosments for everything they can think of not to mention everything else with the path they are heading down

How long before it is the same as GA flying with the same costs and demise like GA.

It will soon be time to bring back an AUF type organization and get back to basic simple and inexspensive flying. Can anyone remember 9510

Well thats what got the RAAus where it is today. If it tried to start of with the exspensive aircraft it is promoting today it would never have got going!!!!

As for beauracrats, can anyone honestly tell me that they think anything though these days and not take the quick answers on board.

My gripe for today (blood pressure now up a bit having mentioned beauracrats)

    Cheers all

  7. Whos to blame ????? We the Australian people just sit back and complain but seem to put up with all this beauracratic bull that is forced on us.

A quote someone put on this site a while back

"CASA has never worked out, that they are there to serve the aviation flying public"

    This should be modified to

"Australian pollies and senior public servants have never worked out they are there to listen to and serve the australian public"

  9. Unit in bright light

    Hi

The unit I purchased off ebay

7" GPS Navigation HD LCD 3D LANDMARK MAP + BLUETOOTH FM - eBay, GPS, Electronics. (end time 22-Sep-09 22:00:49 AEST)

works quite good and was easy enough to load Ozexplorer on it

One thing I was XXXXed of about is the fact it was advertised to have an external aerial plug but did'nt.

As with all these type of screens, it is useless in bright light.

Seems OK in the aircraft cockpit though.

    Cheers

all seems pretty good althought havent tried it in the aircraft yet. Will do if this XXXXty windy weather every goes away!!!!

My question is, what maps do you people with experiance with these devices recommend

  11. Hi All

I am thinking of painting my savannah Bingo as it has never been painted.

I have looked at all the advise including this site and am worried about using acid based cleaners (alumipreb etc) for fear that it may ingress under the rivets and overlapped areas and cause corrosion as I dont believe all the acid can be wash away.

Any tips or advice on cleaning or preparing the alum surface for painting without using acid based products.

The aircraft is approx 4 years old

    Cheers

  12. Ebay 7" GPS

    Hi again All

    Thanks for the info

There is another 7" GPS on Ebay with the higher resolution screen for about the same price but it has'nt facilities for an external aerial.

If i am puting it in my Savannah do you recon I will need an external aerial.

I know i need it for the Garmin 12XL I use at the moment.

    Cheers Robert
