  1. I have read all of the posts on this subject of the missing aircraft from Murwillimbah (now found) and each persons own view or judgement on what happened, including remarks of what safety equipment was in the aircraft or presumed to be in the aircraft or should have been in the aircraft.

The best outcome from these forums is to learning from others experiences good or otherwise.

Casting aspersions gets us nowhere at all and certainly does not offer any learning moments for any of us as facts are what we need to make informed decisions. Whilst we may or may not agree with all of the posts on here we should still learn even from the negative ones, that is don't reply to them to give them any credit or create any interest in the individual post.

We should all strive to aviate safely at all times and carry safety equipment so that we can use it if required, the fact remains that even if a PLB, or ELT was carried the outcome would have been the same. There is no doubt the aircraft could have been found sooner that goes without saying but there would be no change to the end result.

I hope that the family of the person involved in this tragic incident does not have access to this forum to see what has been said about the incident R.I.P

  2. Well done on a safe landing.

Out of curiosity did you ask the L2 why he suggested you watch the oil pressure gauge? Or was it a general comment due to the hrs the aircraft has done.

I understand that monitoring gauges is a never ending task not just oil pressure.

  3. Kunners to Albany, sheeez that's a long way!:-) Out of curiosity do you still carry paper charts or rely solely on GPS for Nav?

Both is my choice but I rarely refer to the paper in flight, planning on the ground for reporting points I like to do on paper but it also can be done in OzRunways

    ✈️ Cheers

  4. My two bobs worth is it all comes down to personal choice, those that have windows based systems will say they are the best, those that run apple or androids will do the same.

I run the premium OzRunways on my IPad & IPhone 6, I believe that you get what you pay for and choice is a personal thing.

I just did a trip from Kununurra to Albany and can't speak highly enough of OzRunways Premium on my IPad but I do prefer Apple, my choice.

No matter which program or technical device we purchase when you think about it we are always going to be someone's bitch

  5. I did the RAA first then did my RPL this is by far the cheapest option but there is a lot of variables to consider.

How close is either school from where you live, what are the instructors like, do they have a pathway so you can complete the transition easily. Is there availability of aircraft for when you plan to,fly or is the school very busy and restricted in terms of flying hours choices.

The pax endorsement and cross country also convert over so that is not a problem.

    Cheers ✈️

  6. It's not being sugar coated at all. There are just a few people who cannot come to grips with the processes involved and like to sound off.

There are many Coroners cases which take a similar time to conclude; most public liability lawsuits take years to conclude.

The chains of investigation are not always parallel, and quite often it's the evidence that gets hung up in a queue, then the result which has to be sent to another specialist gets hung up in their queue etc.

I guess then our views are worlds apart, I am not accepting and you are, do you accept that? Because I accept that you have an opinion and I respect that, I also have an opinion.

i would suggest that there is more than "just a few people who cannot come to grips with the process"

    Cheers ✈️

  7. Well done I also did not watch every video but I did enjoy the ones that I viewed.

Interesting choice going to acrobatics I thought that you may have done some x country work first.

Is it your intention to learn more about recovery from unusual, attitudes? I had similar thoughts but my circumstances required me to do the x country and get some flight hours up navigating.

I will go back and do some acrobatics even if it is just for a trial flight.

Great work mate keep it up I am sure that you can tell by reading the posts on here that your videos are appreciated.

    Cheers ✈️

  8. KRviator

Remember selling anything is easy if you follow the three Ps

    Position

    Presentation

    Price

Seems you have mentioned at least two of these there is only one to go and you may move it, the best way to find out if there is an interest is to put it on the market, after all no one in there right mind will offer you more than it is worth unless of course you had a line up of people wanting to buy.

    Cheers ✈️

  9. Don't know why anyone would want to live in Melbourne anywayone day people will realise that in regional vic they can buy a near new house for under $500k and travel 15 km to work in 15 minutes and then park all day for nothing

ps also only takes 10 minutes to get to the local airfield

Not many cities in Australia where you can park for free they must be doing something good then

  10. You can sugar coat this issue as much as you like it will still be a joke.

On one hand we hear how important the safety of aviation is in Australia and on the other incident reports that take years to complete.

The government as a group should be ashamed of the dismal performance.

The only way this could ever possibly improve would be to have the politicians wages indexed to the key performance indicators of the ATSB complete reports.

I bet we would then and only then see a major improvement in completion of reports that are supposed to improve safety for us all.

In my opinion not only the government of the day but previous governments sees these as a tick in the box complete or otherwise.

    Cheers
