Hi Rhrudder- dont have a 914 (wish I had)but do have a 912 ULS so may be able to contribute a little or could be all fake news
In my application I took a great deal of time & trouble to static balance, pitch and then dynamic balance my 2 blade Fiti prop. Ran like a sowing machine from the static balance/pitch onward, so noticed little change with the dynamic balance. I guess I am going the long way about suggesting you may have been a tad hasty in your temporary re propping.
I would also second Blueadventures suggestion again you can only benefit from aa precise as possible pneumatic balance of the carburettors.
One other point - check out your engine mount & rubbers for nil damage/security
If the pitch is not set the same for each blade could that make it vibrate when throttle is retarded, only set the pitch on each blade with a bubble type pitch gauge, took a few goes started off to fine then to course , struggled to reach 5000 on take off, so I split the difference, I was surprised how little movement made the difference , since found out you can use the inclinometer on a phone to check it,

All good suggestions, thanks for the advice

Had a wheels up landing in my Sabre, mechanical failure, broken prop, gearbox checked out by Wal , all good, borrowed another prop from a mate, Kaspar, had to change the pitch as it was over reving, now have a bad vibration as is throttles back past 4000 revs , only noticed this as I was flying to deni to get some panel work done, could it be caused by a miss match in the pitch of the blades , cruise and idle it is good , got a mercury balance plate fitted.

Yep forgot that one

Don’t think a 19 rego can be a RV and a two seater

My bfr is due this week, just rang the instructor, was told can’t be done because of the we would break the social distance rules, he was going ring raa and try and get extensions for for me, how will this play out
-
It makes sense now , just checked out my bird , reckon I’m right to try some spins
-
I see the bristell has been deemed unsafe to do stalls in because they can’t recover if they fall into a spin , what is exactly wrong with the design that makes this possible
-
The pilot in question flew for the police air wing, helicopters, but I reckon I will keep checking

Talking with a pilot about checking for water in fuel, he reckons it’s a waste of time after a refuel as the liquid is stirred up that much it wouldn’t settle out in the bottom of the tank, only time is before first flight after it has sat for a while, any thoughts?

I would say no...... it would be current from the day it was done and for the two years after that.
That’s what I thought, probably should wait till the end to get the most out of the two years

Bfr due at end of March , is it possible to do it earlier and forward date it to line up with the due date

There was a mark on the ring which I managed to work away with an abrasive tape and reassembled with permatex exhaust goo , but I may be up for a new pipe, do you think the yellow stain would be from the leak , blowing a gale here at the moment so reluctant to go flying
-
Mine are bolted , 2 bolts , a fitted ring on the header seats against a matching chamfer in the port
-
914 rear left , the stain looks like it starts at the exhaust port , it’s on the carby , firewall , oil tank and streaming away outside from the cowl , the only thing that would dissolve it was carby cleaner in a spray can .
-
Had a yellow stain appearing from around the left side of the cowl , looks like it was coming out of the exhaust where it fits into the head , could it be that the pipe wasn’t seated properly and maybe allowing unburnt fuel to leak out hence the yellow colour, I’ve had a go at reseating the compression ring but haven’t flown yet , has anyone come across this. Greg

Your right, forgot the transponder, how much to fit one .

Is it possible to fly into controlled airspace in a 24 rego under a
RPL if the radio and altimeter is certified, I heard is was but not sure , thinking of getting my RPL just for this reason

Found a electrician that can do it , only trouble he is in NSW , over the river, Moama, and can’t work in VIC, but is going to try figure something out hopefully

Three wires , three phase, l guess HV, feeding dairy’s, anyway worth a try

A L2 ASP is a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider - basically a Sparkie who can work on the network infrastructure, as opposed to simple electrical stuff inside your house. You can buy them (the markers, not Sparkies ?) from the link in my previous post, or probably the manufacturer directly, and yes, they simply clamp around the wires.
Looks like the way to go , thanks for that, l know a few sparkies hopefully one can do it, do they use the same rod to replace the fuses on the pole
-
Looks about 12 meters, could stand on top of a cattle truck and get a lot closer, what’s a L2 ASP , who sells the rotamark, do they clamp around the wires
-
Anyone had a go at putting those orange balls on power lines , what’s involved, cost, I’m with powercor and a bit terrified what they will charge , the balls cost $600 for three,
-
Okay, thanks I’ll give it a go

Hell, at that rate mine will be out for sure , I did notice when I tightened the clamp bolts it would change the angle a bit , plane is at lame in deni , I am hoping this is my problem as it is bad enough to not fly it as I said good at cruise but bad when throttling back
