  1. Righto all you J230 owners with an Efis, Ems and Avmap and SL30 linked.

I thought it was time to upgrade the Dynons with newer software which all went very well. But on a flight to Hamilton yesterday on trying to split the screens the Efis wont pull over the Ems screen. It says No Ems connected and I am also unsure if the other instruments are synced or not.

Help please. I thought no probs it is just a setting- but cannot find anything that helps on the instruments, dynon site or the manual.

    Any Ideas ?? 091_help.gif.c9d9d46309e7eda87084010b3a256229.gif

  2. Fantastic Walter, thank you, I will try my best to give at least give Straddie a go and maybe try Orchid Beach as well if I can get away with my Bro in law while the wives are busy elsewhere. It's a pity it will be the second Saturday and not the third.

Blackrod-Well Cessna versus Jab-hmm where do I start > i have been flying C182's for about 15 years, great work horse, can get them into most strips and out - Love em. The Jab- have only been flying since January. I am liking and appreciating it more every flight

If I had the money I would have a 182 and a jab but in my situation I can afford to run a Jabiru and not a C182 or C172 etc. I can do more flying now but only with 1 pax but so be it, I am at least up there and free and hope to do a few more trips next year.

  3. Gidday Walter and all. i am flying to Queensland in the Jab early January with the co-pilot who shall be obeyed and would love to find a couple of spots that you guys can recommend or a fly away happening in the Caboolture area. Straddie sounds and looks great. Any ideas and spots would be great. We will be based on Bribie.

  4. The Painted hills are fantastic and are different to the painted desert.

They are on the Tarcoola WAC chart and marked as Painted Hill with co-ordinates about 29' 34 min and 135' 50min at a distance of 48NM from William Creek on a track of 207 degrees Magnetic. I also have the co-ords for the Marree man (in the GPS )which is then on track from the painted hills to Marree but you need to get up to about 8500 to see him properly- it is a bit ordinary now.

  5. Gidday Pabloako,

The ELB thing-Our club bought 20 off these for club members locally after looking at the idea of buying them in the states. Definately speak to AMSA and maybe an elb company here, but the story we got was the Hex code had to be changed here and set to OZ. They would do it but charged a heap.

  6. Yeh, the big screen is great for old blind guys like me. But you are right , they should have a front slot for the card or even an extended adaptor if they are made.

Any how it's all done now, till next time.

  7. Thanks guys,

I updated the Avmap software today in the Jab. Well what a prick of a job. What a terrible design Mr jabiru. To get to the CF card which is on the right side you have to try and undo a knurled nut at the back-- can't get to that unless you drop the dash forward by unscrewing all the screws and hanging it forward on the throttles. If you can then get the nut undone you still have to wriggle the bracket clear to move the unit to get to the Card to get it out 051_crying.gif.fe5d15edcc60afab3cc76b2638e7acf3.gif

Well after all that, plug the card into laptop and delete some files and add the new ones.

Got it all back together and it seems fine. Edmo tells me there is a big difference in the software so that is good.

So after all that I am not going to add any more waypoints via the card. So JayKay good luck with your Jab.
