  1. Wasn't sure whether to post this in Aviaton videos or here..but figured it fitted more into Humour.

Apparently United have responded positiveley to the video and are contacting the offended party to try to rectify the situation. Hope they do before the next two vids come out!

  3. I am planning a trip too and VA are my number 1 pick. Good plane, best seats (more comfy and not as squishy seat width wise which is important on a long flight)and very good service from feedback I have. If you can be flexible with your dates you could pick up a good deal..

  4. Hi all..finally solved the puzzle about that plane..beautiful blue sky up here today and saw one plane really high with a single contrail (Possibly a Lear Jet or similar?)..anyway when watching through my old tinted binocs this white jet suddenly turned a beautiful blue turqoise colour when the sun hit it at an angle..got pout the new bincos without the tints and it was a normal white colour..so it was the binocs all the time changing the colours on the planes! :) Who needs a new plane paint job costing heaps of $ when a pair of binocs will do it for free!

By the way Chainy...just about to install planeplotter here!

  5. Hi Dan. I agree with Darren. Give V Australia a good look and if you can be flexible a little with dates you could get a great deal. I am planning the same trip as you. They have some great fares but also a great plane with probably the best seats for comfort, width and legroom..and good service from what I have been told. Qantas are worth a look too.

United and Delta have great deals going too..though you might want to check www.seatguru.com and http://www.airlinequality.com. These sites have seating arrangements (seat guru) and also passenger reviews of seats and service (airline quality/Skytrax). After doing my research from these two sites and people I know, I think V Australia comes out way in front..but thats from my perspective. Good luck! Tim

  6. Thanks Darren .... yes guess that saves fuel even over a longer distance than the more direct route. Actually Clare said the weather over Melbourne was bad at the time..worst and bumpiest part of the flight..must have been when that rainstorm hit yesterday arvo. Thanks Tim

  7. Hi All. My friend Clare flew from Auckland to Singapore yesterday and she just told me her flight actually flew over Melbourne yesterday during the bad weather? Is this a normal flight path for a NZ-Singapore flight? Anyone got any ideas why it might have taken this route? Thanks. Tim

  8. Travelling into Wangaratta on the bus this morning..saw a delightful elliptical contrail in the blue sky over in the East on the Syd-Mel flight path. Thought at first YMML must have been fogged in but it was only one craft and only one circuit before it tootled on its way down to the big smoke.

Last year we had 5 planes doing circuits up here when YMML fogged in..any idea why this one was the only one or what it might have been doing?

Don't think it was Santa looking for my chimney Robbo just in case thats what you were thinking! :) (wrong time of year)

  9. Robbo and Glenn..in the words of the infamous Greenbottle (from the olde radio series "Yes What").."How could you say sooch a thing!" : LOL

What.... me reply to the e mail link? :)

Almost guilty..just stopped myself before finger hit the button!

  10. Good find VH....seems to suggest the one I saw wasnt Air Vietnam though lots of things seemed to co -incide..colours and time..the plane that overflew here seemed headed directly to Sydney and was followed almost exactly 5 minutes later by UA 840....from memory it was around 11.35-11.45.

Your pic looks very similar though I think my colour was slightly distorted by the coloured lenses on my binocs which made it look to have a little more green/turquoise..wonder if it could have been a cargo plane I saw.
