  1. Some good replies so far in this thread. "Am I addicted to aviation?" I just have to accept the fact I'm PLANE MAD. Yes I'm the sort of person who stops into every airport I pass on a drive anywhere - the sort of person who drives up to half an hour off track to visit an airport. I also regularily call into my local airport on the way home from town... the fact I live 2mins from town and the airport is a futher 10 mins from my place is beside the point. I've also spent thousands of dollars on camera equiptment just to take perfect plane pics My friends know my as a plane geek, mainly because I can tell by the sound what is flying over and with a quick glance at my watch where its come from/going to. My family and friends are under strict instructions that everytime they fly somewhere not only do I want photos and inflight magazines - anything that isn't nailed down is fair game .... I even have a running joke with one friend about bringing me back an air hostess :biggrin: So am I addicted to aviation? HELL YES - It'd be a sad sad world if I wasnt.
  2. Good move IMHO - so far I have resisted the move to Vista. One of my friends lost a lot of work and other stuff due to problems with vista - I believe he had to buy another laptop as well.
  3. Just a modest selection on my part Canon EOS 400D Canon EOS 40D and a couple of point and shoot digis
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys. As for the photos im heading for BNE in a couple of weeks time so I should get some shots from the trip over and back which i'll post otherwise you'll see some of my pics from here, on my Marlborough Aviation Scene blog - http://www.kiwiaviationaddict.blogspot.com For models my last one was a rapid build of a deHavilland dH89A Rapide in Cook Straight Airways c/s and I'm just about to embark on a major project to convert an Airfix Bristol B170 Mk32 Superfreighter into a Mk31M Freighter - as Safe Air example ZK-CPT in situ as it has been over the last few months, being restored to a taxiing example here at Omaka. (for info on the restoration see my blog entry dated 13 June 08)
  5. Hi everyone. I'm Craig, based in wine country NZ, within spitting distance of NZOM (Omaka) and NZWB (Blenheim/Woodbourne). I'm an aviation enthusiast, blogger, student pilot, photographer, modeler, etc etc etc. I'm into civil and historic Kiwi/Australian/International aviation. Stumbled onto this site this morning and am now looking forward to being part of this forum.
