  1. Almost anything - in the current economic climate I think i'll settle for anything i'm offered.I am looking for something along the lines of Admin - as I have plenty of experience there, but anything customer service would be good as well. If it really comes to it I also have retail to fall back on, but that really is a last resort. I've been told on here I could be a travel writer so that is always a possibility, as is any ground based aviation job. I used to be fussy about where I worked but I guess in the current global economic screw-up I cant afford to be as choosy anymore.
  2. Well its happened nzom_pilot has hit the west isle (also known as Australia) and am in Brisbane for a fortnight, hopefully to sure up somewhere to live and a job for my impending move in April. I have endured the flights across - honestly the A320 is overrated. Sorry Daz but there is NO chance of me getting in a JQ A320 at 177 seats when a NZ A320 at 152 seats was intolerable enough. So just to let you all know that the stray kiwi is in the land of oz, and that trip reports will be forthcoming.
  3. From the sublime to the ridiculous, I've now seen the jetstar ads at least 5 times this afternoon - there are currently two different ads playing as well.
  4. I've seen this on the net but still yet to see it on TV. which has crashed again due to a $5 jetlite fare sale between AKL, WLG, CHC & ZQN - the website has spent more time down than operational this week
  5. Pity your system is locked down and you cant install ACARSD cause as Daz says its the best  I use it over here - it doesn't stream it to the public if you don't select those options, I've used ACARSD for nearly 2 years and never once has my stuff gone past my computer
  6. AKL it is - they have a concert there on Friday followed by CHC on Sunday, their next concert is in Mexico so they probably wont be back to SYD after their NZ gigs

  8. Very true Mr Chainy - a very good group indeed. I believe the first of the two logs sent from MEL to this group each day is the one that is on the ACARSD client I mentioned
  9. I haven't seen a web site, but if you download acarsd client, a free programme, from www.acarsd.org, (make sure you download the client version) you should be able to connect to a Melbourne feed on that. HTH
  10. Almost correct NZ7571 is the RNZAF 757 inbound to MEL from AKL with the kiwi fire guys - NZ7572 is back in NZ but not yet operational as per [ame=http://theaussieaviator.net/showthread.php?t=24996]RNZAF 757 refitted but not yet ready - The Aussie Aviator.Net[/ame] I also recieved the report you refer to.
  11. Definately not ours - NZ7572 was our one which arrived back at Whenuapai direct from the US on Wednesday Interesting this says "allegedly operated in support of US State Dept's Foreign Emergacy Support Team" - I had heard the US were sending over a team to help out at the Victoria bushfires, and this would certainly fit the bill
  12. As expected - since they were the only airline to announce new services from AKL around that time frame So do you know if you'll just operate on the two AKL routes or will you get to operate some of the CHC routes as well? And possibly the new JQ domestic services they are rumoured to be looking at here?
  13. there is - check out www.balus.info
  14. I keep forgetting to mention Darren, SJE re-entered service at the end of January
  15. Might have been at this end Darren - scheduled out of AKL at 1845NZDT actual departure around 2000NZDT so about the same delay as out of SYD.
  16. Should be according to the Boeing website (below) they have ordered 45 and only recieved 28 so far.... not sure if this includes the 10 on Pacific Blues books or not, but there should be plenty arriving at some stage I have heard that they will be replacing the 737s 1 for 1 with the newer 738s, and then the rest will be additional. http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm?content=userdefinedselection.cfm&pageid=m15527
  17. Another set of pics from my mate Mike at AKL HERE For those who dont know today also marked several changes to EKs NZ ops. EK412/413 changed from a A345 DXB-SYD-CHC to the alternating A388/772LR DXB-SYD-AKL while EK418/419 the 77E swapped from DXB-BKK-SYD-AKL to DXB-BKK-SYD-CHC EK434/435 swapped from a 77E to a A345 and now ops DXB-BNE-AKL dropping the SIN stopover. So that means the 3 daily EK flights from AKL are now all 1 stop to Dubai
  18. video arrival into AKL on NZ Herald website here http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/video.cfm?c_id=1&gal_cid=1502757&gallery_id=104324
  19. Source: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10554637 Some other sites with photos and info are HERE and HERE For those not aware of things North Shore Aerodrome is only 700m which is basically the limit for a L-29.
  20. Ahhh I was told it would be covering the CNS-POM route that the E145 currently does for ANG, and a few other top end-pacific/indonesian area routes from CNS and DRW, but you sound like you might be a bit closer to the action than I am , and my info was 2nd or 3rd hand by the time it got here!
  21. I have heard a rumour she is moving up the road a little bit, from DJ at Brisbane to SkyAirWorld in Cairns!
  22. Enjoy that while you can - NZ are canning it at the end of March - mind you QF have picked up the route and will start it a week after NZ finish - I believe Atlas made them an offer they couldn't refuse on the aircraft NZ are giving up.
  23. I would guess its a cruise ship transfer - we had a ThomsonFly 757 (G-OOBE) a week or so back that did AKL and HBA swapping pax off cruise ships.
  24. its blimen cold over here in NZ, had a week of nice 27-33 now its back down to 19-21.... brrr I prefer the early to mid 30s far nicer temp! Not sure if i'd cope with 45 though - although as long as it was dry heat and not humid it wouldn't be all that bad.
  25. update on SJE SJE will be repaired enough to be flown to the ANZES base at CHC for serious repair work to be undertaken - looks like NZ will be down a 733 for quite a while - especially since its been 11 days and she isn't yet ready to leave WLG.
