It would be interesting to see where the MBRC claim the offence is created to allow a penalty and then where they get the power to enforce it.This is what came in the newsletter..... MBRC is the Moreton Bay Regional Council...they are the local council for the area...it is a very large council so it seems it is a council ruling and based on noise.Someone with more legal eagle ability on this forum should have a reasonable opinion on here for Geoff as regards his positionHAZELTON FOR PRACTICE EMERGENCY APPROACHES
DOWN TO 500 FEET ONLY
MBRC has confirmed that the only permitted landings and take offs at Hazelton are personal and private operations by the property owner and no one else, even with the owner’s permission.
Unless you are prepared to accept a penalty of $11,780 per landing (business) or $2,356 (private) do not even think about Hazelton except for a genuine emergency.
However MBRC acknowledges that CASA regulations permit practice forced landing approaches to Hazelton to a minimum 500 feet, provided you respect local Fly Neigbourly guidelines.
To quote the council:
If undertaking forced landing practices in open fields, gunning engines to recover aircraft control should not be done over dwellings as this always results in complaints to the Council from terrified residents.
The noise sensitive area to avoid at Hazelton is Meldale, North East of the strip.

Where did you end up getting the jury strut eye bolts from?
-
-
Except the original part is actually SS and was taken from use of boat turnbuckles.
I searched far and wide for these myself and could not find them the next best thing is eye bolts alluded too by OME.

Weight of these? 80-85kg fitted PSRU?

Look at the trailing edge of the wing. You can see the end of the battens, the black batten tips. unclip (not the tip battens) and come out of their recess in the seam at the trailing edge of the wing. As a result the trialing edge can move and luff without the restriction from the battens holding it properly. Now that is how a weight shift aircraft works, sail manipulation; move weight to one side the cross bar/keel move and the sail will respond.

He didn't use his weight efficiently but they actually set up the same situation with a 'test' pilot ... locked in also and deplyed reserve succcessfully.
The pilot in the video did not make it. Yes failed deployment of reserve. They aren't that hard to get out but you need to practice.
Flex wings are just that. If they luff because of say G and speed, or batten failure there can be hidden dragons lurking.

Absolutely not. I am prone to being facetious and Oscar it seems, verbose. A perfect match. Like Yin and Yang (That's me on the left.)...we wouldn't want him ejected again for a little archaic cursing would we?- 1

It isn't character it is the person... fatuous; provocative; intelligent people; bluster; peevish; sensible answers; antagonists and "To those who have no contribution other than denigration of the products of these manufacturers - and we know who these are- I offer the classic injunction: a pox on you." I think, even taken at it lowest the inferences are clear. A good argument no doubt, shame it takes that form.

It is "germane" not "germiane" (variant of German).
It is "misere" not "mezzaire" (french).
Pretty sure "a pox on you" is a curse rather than an injunction (english).
My post, like yours; ad hominem (latin).

HMM bit exy for 4 x shares - pricing it at $24000. Still if you get to fly it when ever you want not so bad but what is in the kitty to keep it prime?. Price is in the engine and skins first then look at airframe and accessories (assuming airframe is solid). $4500 maybe pushing to 5K would be OK and on the money if engine, prop and fabric have good time and you don't have any real restriction as to use.

It is a 55 reg factory built strutty. I was looking at it some years back to buy a share (never did bought my own...). Located at Jacobs Well - Heck Field. Just need to keep en eye on aircraft kept there because of proximity to the coast but with proper care no issues. What are they asking?I was talking to Farri about this drifter and he side that it could be a wire braced converted to strut braced..A better shot at

Expensive club to be a member of but understandable given the location and issues which mean they keep a pretty tight ship.
