If a Telco tower was hit surly there would be some kind of activity around the tower re structural integrity.

All of my instructors [there were several GA-AUF] pulled the throttle on me at some stage of the day.
The worst was first take off one was thinking more of getting the little bugga in the air.
But every day it was done even if I had done 6 touch & goes it would happen
I think they all watched me for the right [in their minds] time to do it.
Was good training for what may [but never] happen.
Frightened one CFI in Maryborough Qld when I done one myself [pay back] hehe.

There has been a lot of really large 'willy willies' lately in the Biggenden area, I witnessed a wheelie bin thrown into the air about 20/30 feet and landed about 100 yards away
Just missing a car on the Isis Hwy. So if the aircraft wasn't tied down that could have happened to it?

Just a tad off topic, but I have those elbows and joiners in my motor home, not the one in the avata a differant one they hold pressure without any leaks.
But I don't use them for fuel, so can't comment on such.

A strange thing happened to me as a low time trainee.
I was doing circuits at Hervey Bay when the instucter told me to fly over to Maryborough and do some touch and go's.
The runway had just been resurfaced and no Keys or center line. I found it hard to do a normal landing without visual signs.
I think my instructer was on the ball that day and he took me outside my comfort zone.

My first solo in a Gazelle was at Hervey Bay in 2000, I had a Shorts 360 ( the RPT then) wait at the gate while I landed.
He congratulated me on my landing....I was stoked . A good landing and a pro telling me so.

That bloke is a serial complainer has done so in the local paper for years.
There is also one opposite Maryborough airport always complaine about engine noise, the best one he done was complain to the aircraft maintanance shop about the load noise eminating from there. It was a F111 that done a dummy touch and go, I was there.

Do you have photos of 24 3382.So I have been doing some research and it looks like it dropped off the VH register in late 1999. The owner was Robert Molesworth and he lived in the Ballarat area, apparently he did his licence in the machine, maybe someone knew of him or saw the machine at Ballarat or a nearby airfield (Lethbridge, Sunbury, Geelong)? If anyone has access to the RAA register perhaps you can let me know if the serial number is on the register against one of the Gazelles. I have managed to find pictures online of most of the 24 registered Gazelles but there are a few missing.I have looked everywhere and managed to find an old magazine clipping
It only shows the front profile but you can get an idea of the colours, the stripe on the wing is the same colour as the stripe on the fuselage, the tailplane was the same red/orange all over.

I seem to remember you were one of those who didnt see the Ape Ian.A couple of years ago Recreational Flying held a Flyin at Camden Haven up near Port Macquarie NSW. On the Saturday evening we were all guests for dinner at the Port Macquarie Flying Club. I asked CASA to attend and give us a presentation on Human Factors as it was at the time when RAAus was introducing HF into their syllabus. At the evening, the CASA representative played a video and at AusFly I was talking to the CASA people about it. They were able to steer me to where I could find it again so here is the video...the Human Factors Basket Ball VideoNOTE, IF YOU DON"T KNOW ABOUT THE HUMAN FACTORS BASKET BALL VIDEO, THEN PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE READING ANY POSTS...VERY IMPORTANT

Mick I would have paid big money to see H ride that bull. You must of missed the late night riding of the mechanical bull by some of the local ladies. The funniest of these was my wife trying to get up on to the bull ( which is difficult as she is so short ) when Ronnie Creed valiantly tried to help but only suceeded in pushing her right up, over and straight off the other side!!!!As part of the team greeting arriving aircraft I took photos of every aircraft there. I will tally up some numbers and report later but the Savanagh was definitely the highest number of type.Definitely another top weekend at Old Station, lets hope the weather is kinder next year.
