  1. Hi,It sort of looks like your joystick is the issue. I would still get the latest drivers from the internet, the joysick may work with them.

    /not work

    Bob.

Yep would try upate your drivers for the joystick, also look at a bios update for your motherboard, may be worth a shot...

  2. Thanks for all the cool replies guys!! :big_grin:Took my dad for a flight, he was so happy up there it made me really proud to become a pilot. Is there many guys here from Wa?

Here is some pics of the flight with my dad.

More WA pilots, sweet! Congrats on passing btw...

  3. In most cases diversions to ensure you are almost always within gliding distance of non - "tiger country" will only add a few minutes to your flight time, the difference is negligible.. for peace of mind and a more enjoyable flight, why not. Granted its not always possible but its up to the pilot to set his own minimum safety standards, limits etc, for me,if I can help it, it will always be flying over country I am likely to survive a forced landing. Its not something I'll lose sleep over planning the flight but minimise risk where I can

  4. Hi Mike

I have not flown the j400, but have flown J230 and J160 and I would say the general rule with Jabs is get that nosewheel off as soon as possible, i.e. lift it and hold it just off the ground on your takeoff (and landing) roll. Jab nosewheels don't like any weight on them and will make directional control difficult. I've been told with cessnas and the like you can hold the nosewheel on the ground on takeoff as you described, but always been told by my instructor to treat the jab nosewheel as if it were made of tissue paper - keep the weight off it for as long as possible..

Edit: oh and yes, was also taught to have trim neutral

The torque effect on the 230 is also quite noticeable and needs plenty right rudder to keep her pointing straigh down the strip when you bury the throttle...have heard a few stories of pilots testing the jabs offroad capabilities when the torque has caught them by surprise by veering off the strip... :)

  5. Some of our clients only want xp in their network as part of the standard operating environment so some manufacturers (toshiba I know for sure) will supply an xp rollback disk if you want so you can roll it back to xp but I'm not sure if they still do this. I would personally frogleap Vista (i've had issue after issue with vista) and go windows 7 due to be released soon if not already. I have been using the windows seven since they released the Beta and now am using the rtm (release to manufacture) version and its fantastic, looks great but uses about the same resources as xp. I could go on but in my opinion you should get rid of Vista, go xp if you can or give windows 7 a go
