I am the same as Aldo. I'm right handed for writing but everything else I do left handed (Hold a pool stick, bow hunt, shoot and even kick a ball left footed). My first lessons in the Gazelle felt weird as well having to control stick with left hand and do the throttle with my right (Holding stick with my right feels better). I've noticed some Jabs have a yoke and throttle on the left. Why is it that there is no standard for aircraft configuration?? (Like a car does).

I'm same a Dazza, FIFO so my last lesson was 3 weeks ago. I'm aching to get up again. I just sit at work in the quite hours studying my BAK book (Bob Tate).

Hi All, Just a quick intro. Started RA Aus training a month ago (Goulburn Avaiation) in the Gazelle. First two lessons completed but will have to change to Sportstar as I'm a wee bit to tall for the Gazelle (my knees half block some instruments and I cannot get full deflection left or right with the stick, also my head is cocked sideways as well (I'm 6' 3''). Looking forward to the Sportstar. I work offshore so its very hard to get time in for training (I work 28 days on rig 28 days off rig) and my instructor only teaches on Saturdays. Also I live in Canberra and this is the closest place I can fly! So far having heaps of fun. My father was a Qualified Flying instructor (A4 Skyhawks back when we had a Fleet air arm in the Navy) so its good to have someone help me when I dont understand something.
