Some of us have less than 6 fingers round these here partsNear Tamworth you say?My missus was a cheatin' so I did fly away,Well my plane crashed down when my prop did a stray,
Now I'm standing in a paddock in among the rubble,
Bet my truck breaks next cause luck comes in double.
(sung to generic Country and Western music).

Good outcome to walk away with only a dinged machine.

First time as a student was in a Thruster T500, after my short break of 19 years it was a 2004 Sportstar then, like a Ferrari by comparison.

But what a beaut ute it is.That's not a plane that's a farm ute!!- 1

This plane stuff is tricky. You have to think 5 steps ahead, what happens if I do this?, if it breaks what happens?
I am putting a trim tab in a plane that did not have one to start with and its already been back to the think tank a few times. I like that all the thinking is being done by someone else on this one.

Hi, do any members live near Maryborough that would be able to pack and post a small lot from the John fisher auction for me. I would be happy to pay for their services and costs.
Got a scary quote from the company recommended by auction house.
PM me if you can help.
Cheers

I agree. Would want reversible prop pitch to not run away. Specs are great if you want to get somewhere fast but that valley strip looks like a supercub would be more at home.

Where are all those easy to build flats gone? This looks to hard.. and here's today's latest build picture .. -
Whatever you do, if it's for you don't put it off. I had a 20 year gap between flying lessons and you can't gain it back ( the time).
Have heaps of fun in your endeavours. Even the times when you don't get things just right are still learning points.
Cheers and welcome.

This guy would have plans built this aircraft, and to do so would have taken skill. I doubt he would change the engine and not do a new w&b before hopping in it. It's a shame most people hear homemade and think of sticks and duct tape with an engine.Trouble is that's all the public get to hear or read and that damages our reputation as responsible flyers.- 4

Is bex on holidays. Been a few days since an update.

Sad, 10 news just reported he texted friends that he expected poor performance from the the aircraft due to the heat. It's probably hard to tell yourself on such a nice day that it's a no go. Horrible to watch and know it's not going to recover.

My 2nd last flight, day was perfect at sun up, turned very gusty by 10am. Nice to see Chaffey dam full after years of low levels.

all the South African guys said the same thing about my Bushbaby, lose the training wheel when it broke.A tailwheel version would fix the tipping back bit:thumb up:I do think a longer tail would look pretty nice though, would that also help with elevator authority?- 1

Even simple items like horse floats I see all the time are poorly constructed from light materials and axles that snap clean like made off ice. People keep buying them to save money in initial purchase, only to find them unrepairable or expensive to rectify.
