Very nice watch you have there Rodger.Altimeter and compass....very handy.
I see the X9i even has a GPS.....amazing !
Ian, I was just wondering if pilots had watches with specific functions that made their life in the air easier or safer.I am a very low hour RAA pilot and didn't want to buy a watch and then have someone say"hey...why didn't you get one with this or that function?" .
So......maybe I've asked a stupid question but if someone with XX hundred hours says "Any old watch will do" then that is my question answered.

Hello all,
I am looking to purchase a new wrist watch and would like members input.
I was thinking along the lines of a Casio G-shock, but there are a few different models.
What functions are important for us?

Just looked at the RAM Performance web site. http://ramengines.com/index.html
Very impressive. Good power/weight and price.
Will have to do some research on these engines.

Thanks for your reply gents.
I always thought of them as a bit of a death trap.
Perhaps it was just the homebuilt single seaters and the self taught pilots that
caused some accidents and gave them a bad reputation?
I always thought that "If the engine stops, you drop like a rock".
Good to see there's some sort of glide ability.
I can't see a problem with the training these days if these factory two seaters are used.

Hello,
I see the latest RAA Mag has articles/adds for these gyroplanes.
They look quite flash and well made.(looking at the web sites.)
Is it true that the rotors are not actually powered in flight but use somesort of aerodynamic effect to turn?
What would be the effects of an engine failure?

Hi all. Would (could?) pilots be under pressure not to do go-arounds because of fuel usage? I read some where the best airline pilots (in the eyes of their company) are those that use the least fuel.

Aircraft Importing
in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Posted
The term "Qualified" could be open to both extremes (over regulation or it simply being a rubber stamp) and actually stifle a new importation business.
I would like to see importers perhaps form their own code of practice/conduct maybe?
What does the USA have? Is there a body or association that manufactures/importers have over there?
I voted no anyway.
