Plane Crashes After Hitting Power Line

Pretty dramatic! Can't believe the pilot didn't see the power line seeing there was a pole almost right in the flight path. Alternatively of course he may have known it was there & misjudged his clearance or got a bit of sink at the wrong time. Me personally I always allow at least 6 metres going over power lines

Wow, certainly came down in a hurry, the heavier GA stuff seems to handle power lines a bit better, saw pics of a piper that hit one on final ( way below where it should've been) nearly tore the fin off but it kept flying!

Good ad for having big balls on the lines,

I'm still waiting for my big balls! Actually the power authority prefer big flags (aluminium I think) now they told me, as they create less wind drag & weight on the line. At least the price is going to be right. Another local private strip about 3 miles from me is also getting them on his lines on approach
