We purchased the aircraft s/h and initially had problems that stemmed from poor maintenance by the previous owner. We rectified electrical problems, leaking barrels and heads and flooding carbs and now happily fly the length and breadth of the country. Fuel burn was originally quoted at 18 lts/hr at 4800 but we have found the engine happy at 4300 rpm 34 manifold and 15lt/hr for 107-110knts cruise. A recent trip to South Aus via Wagga and back to Brisbane returned an average fuel burn of 13.89lts/hr for 22hrs flight time. We use av gas only so change the oil more frequently and the plugs more frequently.We use only Castrol GPS oil. Cheers Gbr Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cheers Gbr Just wondering, GbR, When you ran the aircraft at 4800 rpm, what speed were you doing?
