A most unique aircraft - the McDonnelll MD 200/199

I happened to come across a link to a blog which covered this aircraft. I have not created a profile for Unique Aircraft, because I have very little information about it and extensive searching of the net, using Google, duckduckgo search engines, and looking at a number of websites, including airliners.net, wikipedia and airport.data failed to locate any reference.

Maybe I jumped a little quickly. Grabbing the N number from the above top photo, I checked the FAA registry, where it is listed as MD 220. There are a few more photos, but I will have to search for more details. It does not look like there is a Wikipedia entry for it.
