British airline Flybe said Saturday it had ceased trading and all flights had been cancelled.

"We are sad to announce that Flybe has been placed into administration," the airline tweeted.

"Flybe has now ceased trading. All Flybe flights from & to the UK are cancelled & will not be rescheduled," it said.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority advised passengers booked with Flybe not to go to the airport.

Flybe had only returned to the skies in April after it crashed into bankruptcy as the coronavirus crisis erupted.

The new Flybe company has struggled and limped along since it started up in 2021, by buying the name of the old Flybe airline, after it collapsed in March 2020, thanks to the COVID pandemic.

The new Flybe only carried out its first flight in April 2022. They managed to acquire 8 x Dash 8 Q400, 78 seat aircraft, but it looks like that was a very optimistic number of aircraft to take on.
