A Drifter experience - aerial photos

Looking towards Cecil Plains

Condamine river and neighbours lagoon - where we give the ski boats a work out after rebuilds.

Cecil Plains on the left, and a Queensland Cotton gin further out - looking south west.

Looking back eastwards, (into the sun!) Good to see water about after soo many yrs of none.

Just another shot of the river, and where it splits off into the creek.

Skirting around Cecil Plains at 1500AGL so as not to annoy anyone if they're still sleeping!

The highest I've seen the river for So long!

Cecil City

The river (Condamine by the way)

Looking east, our house is pretty much under the sun reflection in the middle of the photo

Wheat farm - bit drowned

Duct taped mum's phone to the wing strut to get some video, but the battery went flat - of all things!

Neighbours dam

Our house on the top right hand corner, my usual strip running through the photo, but pretty wet and soft at the moment.

The creek and river - so nice seeing that much water around them.

Looking and tracking north west for Grassdale.

Check out the patterns in the soil

Grassdale feedlot

Climbed up to 2500AGL and throttled back a bit so as not to cause a stampede!

There seemed to be plenty or artistic looks to take a picture of!

Roads constructed in such a way so trucks can maneuver easily.

Friends ute at the end of the shed

Looking back

Amazing how much higher 1000ft looks.

Soil patterns

Crop dusting outfit

WW2 bomber airstrips - they were using it for target practice or something in the F18 Hornets the other day, was great to watch, and listen too!

Looking North toward Dalby

Couldn't ask for a nicer morning - and day for that matter.

Black soil country - or treeless plains (naturally btw)

Heading back to the hanger

I hope you enjoyed a little to the visuals of a Drifter experience! From a flight before work in a SB582 Drifter.

I love a sunburnt country,

A land of sweeping plains,

Of ragged mountain ranges,

Of droughts and flooding rains.

I love her far horizons,

I love her jewel-sea,

Her beauty and her terror -

The wide brown land for me!

Great pics Tom - thanks for sharing!

Cheers John

Thanks everyone, it is so nice first thing in the morning (been cold for summer though!!)

Drifter11, I posted a bit in your other thread - fully loaded with two largish people, they can be pretty ordinary in their climb - but I've never had the 582 in that position to know just yet.

Looks pretty good David.

I love flying and view!

Tomo, Great shots mate, the country looks so much nicer green. I don't know how you just don't go out and buy a good Drifter....I miss mine for the unlmited visability.

As a comparison I'll post some shots I took in the past in the same area, no doubt you would remember the country then..............................................................................Maj...024_cool.gif.7a88a3168ebd868f5549631161e2b369.gif
