was going to head to wellington today ,took a pic of a solar eclips above me then took off into some rough thermals, climbed to 2500ft and was still getting some 700fpm climb at 70knts No throttle nose pointed at the ground and after my bum left the seat a couple of times I made a 180 back to base, landing was a bit shonky as there was alot of sink holes all the way to touch down..It did become smooth. though..once I pushed it in the hanger. lolPhoto0009.jpg.f81d6a9d86f8f9e880a563af65ce93a6.jpg

Ahh this is a moisture ring. You often see these around the full moon. It is caused when there is a large amount of moisture in the upper atmosphere. They can look pretty cool when you get a large one. Have taken a few shots of these. Yep I am a bit of a Nurd and have all those telescope bits.

Have some cool images I have taken on my website.. http://scopepics.wordpress.com.

thanks Mardy, I first thought it had something to do with moisture as the outer ring was a rainbow..was told it was an eclisp? thanks for the info and great pics.
