RAA Work Practices

Recommended Posts

As an update for members I am advised confidentially that:

  • As of today, the CASA approved specialist consultant has only worked a few days since his appointment, he had yesterday off and may not come into the RAA office today.

The last working week he approved 10 aircraft, so about a week to handle what comes in each day.

Perhaps the staff are whisking other approvals through, but the above does not appear to reflect the necessary sense of urgency.

  • I have been a CEO & COO in industry, both private and public, and usually worked around 80 - 90 hours each week.

I understand that the RAA CEO sticks to definite hours and even works about 15 minutes longer each day so that he can take an RDO each month.

Very unusual and unsatisfactory attitude for a CEO leading an office team in my experience and in that of others.

  • A Chistmas shutdown is planned.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the way that this association of members does & should operate?

Regards Geoff
